Have been watching the BBC coverage of todays events stpid and just cant get out of my head the phrase of Laural and Hardy "well heres another fine mess you got me into" and the words to the song "Impossible Dream" by Andy Williams (great Honda advert too).

But on a footballing note will any of the scenarios have any effect on Pools?
I cant think of any sctatchinghead

When the country goes bust the Tories will screw the North into the ground again.

As you asked a purely footballing question Mr Streak, here's a footballing answer.

I don't remember much comment on this at the start of the season, but this is apparently the state of play for the EFL as of this season:

https://www.sports.legal/2017/04/part-o ... d-players/

If the UK ever does come out of EU freedom of movement rules you'd expect that a sudden dearth of journeymen pros from Europe would boost the chances of home grown players getting a contract. But that's not really a problem in the lower leagues anyway, and in the Championship money talks, so if the Borer want to sign Dimi Mk2 no doubt they'll be able to.

I hope the Hartlepool MP tables a question as to where in the Brexit agreement is the overdue compensation for Graff Zepellin's bombing of the Clarence Road stand. We need answers.

Thanks for the link and very interesting it is lets hope home grown players may benefit. Barnier is on the tv now and he has not mentioned the Vanarama League once which is very disappointing.

Limiting the number of foreign players has already happened with disastrous results in Russia where home grown players were vastly overpaid and lazy meaning very few went aboard to play in better more competitive leagues or had the incentive to personally improve.

This wont happen as the Premier League hold too much power but if it did, it would just lead to the top 6 stockpiling more British talent which is already happening.

The academy's at top clubs are already having a fantastic impact on the age group England teams and as of now its transferring to the full national teams, I don't see why we need any change other than jingoistic neanderthals hatred of johnny foreigner.

Pretty much any idea that the FA have is a bad one.

Selling the national stadium, now this.

[quote="phil"]I think the reality is the Premiership theoretically brings so much money to the UK that there will always be a home for the billionaires that want to launder their blood money through our exchequer and the talented athletes they pay millions to kick a ball around. I have no idea how much the industry is worth in tax revenue, but I think once you factor in the army of normal staff, supplies and services the Premiership/Football League pays for then it must be in the billions at least.

thats the problem with the premiership. its just too big and strong and there is not much simalarity between it and division 1 never mind conference football apart from the laws of the game but i can see that being altered if it suits them. money certainly talks brexit or no brexit.
