One way to improve your matchday experience (does not apply to Townenders or Mill House Paddockers)

Recipe

1 Take old pools shirt that has shrunk in the wash.
2 Take old cushion.
3 Take both to sewing / fabric alterations shop.
4 Pay money and hey presto

Very good idea. I hope someone at the club is taking note and you'll be able to pass on details of where you had this done. I'm sure they would not mind the advertising. Ideal Christmas present to reuse those old shirts (and next Christmas, all those BLK ones).

When I first started going to Pools you could pay extra to get a fairly knackered black pad to put on your seat in the old Clarence Road stand. Times change though and nowadays, after all the bottle top injuries that have occurred at matches, you have to consider the horrific possibility of a cushion riot. There is always a chance that unofficial cushions like yours could cause chew no matter how well-meaning the owners are.

Are accusing me of stealing the shirt off your back.

You need to speak to my solicitor "Screwem Goode and Hart" Church Square,West Hartlepool.

You are assuming that "Official Cushions" would be safer but i am not sure how the stewards could identify them or how this could be policed?Perhaps Matty Bates would have to sign each one?

I'm just saying that the club can't be held responsible for chew caused by unofficial cushions. The official ones could come with guidelines to ensure safe use.

Perhaps the kids involved in the half time penalty shoot out could have a prematch cushion fight in the centre circle to whip the fans up into a frenzy.

Yes another pass time to add to jigsaws, gull ID classes and counting the number of floodlight bulbs out....... all enhancing your matchday experience.

It's a bit of a clart on to get it to the ground but it makes for a much more comfy matchday experience.
