Eighth year running that Darlingon have been out of the FA Cup before we've even entered. And that's the real quiz.

Hopefully we get them in the F.A trophy now that would be a good game, But yeah concentrating on the playoffs is a must in my opinion, A day out at Wembley would be great I imagine if we do get there they would be 10000 plus poolies. Even if we get the playoffs it will be our first playoff game since Tranmere home and Away, I was at both games the feeling after Humphrey's winning penalty went in I think I will never get again, Ended up in a bar with loads of poolies until 4 in the morning if I remember correctly, Its still a bit hazy to this day lol

FA Trophy is held at Wembley, that will do me, that and automatic promotion

I'd love a trip to Wembley but only if we get to the playoff final we'd take more fans there if it was for promotion and not some shit pointless cup. I can't see us getting automatic promotion, Leyton Orient for me they look the strongest team in the division, Salford also look good but i can't see them coming top playoffs for them to, I'd love to get Darlo in the FA trophy at the Vic and hammer them but after that I'm not bothered about the FA trophy or the FA cup just the playoffs for me.

How about Sunderland away in 1xt round of the FA Cup ? and then Accrington at home in the 2nd  I agree about Orient, think they will walk it.

I do worry about our fans talking of days out and Wembley ( not winning at Wembley ) and play offs rather than automatic promotion. We definitely have an inferiority complex. We may not be the best , but thinking it, will guarantee failure , no Wembley trips, no play offs.

It boils my p*ss when fans of a club like Hartlepool talk about binning cups and concentrating on the play offs etc. We need the money , we need some success, we should be looking to win every competitive game we play.

Very true horden, it's the big pay days that 'little' clubs need more than silverware.

The FA Cup can be the lifeblood of non league clubs and set them up financially for years to come, it only takes one plumb draw so I’d say the importance on that is almost as big as the League.

The FA Trophy is one I’d look to obviously progress in but also look to give minutes to first team players who haven’t had much game time especially now we have no reserve team it’s the only opportunity we have to rotate. Financially even if you get to the latter stages or win it’s not great, the early rounds are probably loss makers. It’s the equivalent in the EFL Cup until the conpletely ruined it and brought in under 23 teams, it would be nice to have a run but it’s firmly third on the list of priorities this season.

More or less agree. I would play strongest team in Trophy when in last 8 or 4, but likes of Dinanga , Richardson, Hawkes should be good enough to get us to that stage. Hartlepool have never won any trophy of note, or a league title, so winning the Trophy ( maybe not the cup it was in terms of prestige , even amongst traditional non league clubs) is still one I think we should make a conscious effort to win.

Cup runs are good financially and breed a winning mentality.
Wouldn't it be fantastic putting Sunderland to the sword?
Lets dream.

Apart from the play offs, which is our main objective and goal of getting back into the Football League some time in the near future.
