First real crossroads of the season coming up. The season is up and running for real now, do we kick on or beginning of a slump perhaps.

Heart says a win, head a defeat.

Will Donaldson be a big miss? Richardson to replace him I would guess. Halifax on a bad run of form, decent keeper in Johnson ,a bit of experience in Nathan Clarke and Joe Skarz, physical presence in Preston, and a striker with a similar background to Muir in Koysolo . All in all not much of a team on paper or currently on grass, probably overachieved earlier in the season, but will be looking to get back on track.

Going with the heart on this one.

Halifax 1 v 2 Hartlepool
Muir 35
2398
766 away

Is Donaldson out? Iv not seen any injury news on him tbh.

Agree will be a massive loss, not a fan of Richardson so would be tempted to have Kioso at wing back but that would mean Laing playing centre back so probably not a great idea.

Even bigger lack of creativity if Donaldson is indeed out. Presume Williams wont be fit again but we could do with him in for Mclaughlin, imagine his inclusion would also mean Muir didnt have to come quite so deep so often.

To be honest I reckon Bates might switch formation if Donaldson is out.

Definitely a tough game coming up but with us on a good run of form, and them as you say in a bit of a slump, i definitely feel it is a game that we could get 3 points from.

That being said, i'm always wary of teams in bad run of form as they may come flying out at us from the start to try get control of the game and catch Pools cold.

As far as predictions go -
Muir + Woods
2-1 Pools
482 Poolies
Me completely paralytic seeking refuge in a Halifax bus shelter at 3.00am that night

Donaldson is deffo out n that’s a big loss as I after agree Richardson just doesn’t offer the same option going forward.

2-1 win but it’ll be a scrappy one

No idea what the score will be but I predict well over 500 Pools fans, well over.

Like you horden, I am one of the few that has taken the quality of opposition into account so far when assessing how we are progressing. The results so far lead me to think (just my opinion) that we are a solid middle of the table outfit. To justify a playoff position we must raise our game and get some results against better opposition. With a fit Davies and Williams in the team I believe that is a definite possibility.

With all due respect what do you know about ‘quality of opposition’ have you seen every team to make a judgement this early in the season? Solihull were higher in the League than Halifax are now and unbeaten at home in 10 months yet that victory wasn’t good enough for you. It’s a cliche but you can only take one game at a time I don’t buy talk of crossroads and the like this is a competitive League no game is that easy or that hard. Salford are starting to look ominous but if you talk about teams played we were a better team than the leaders when we played them and should have seen out the game and picked up three points.

Great building, some great buildings in the Halifax and the West Yorkshire towns. Booming , bustling , important towns back in the day.

Nairn should of done one on Hartlepool and Darlington. Great concept for a new modern day programme.

I like that big where he says “I am one of the few who have taken the quality of the opposition into account when assessing our results” or something to that effect.

Like we are playing the dog n duck on greyfields every week.

Stanley I’m sure your a lovely Lad, probably a bit dull at parties mind, but no ones getting carried away, no one thinks we are gunna win the World Cup everytime we win, but a few people on here, n please forgive them for it, enjoy seeing us win, at any level, is it that bad? After the last few years, to enjoy a 1-0 win away from home, no matter who it’s against?

And what do you know about anything ? stuck in the Middle East. Have you seen Pools this season? yet you post on here more than anyone. You are obsessed with picking the bones over everything I post. Its just a bit of debate, you sad individual.

PS. We weren't better than Harrogate, a draw was a fair result. How do I know? cos I was there, as I have been at 95% of the games this season.

Yes interesting to see how some of these towns have attracted new investment.
It cost £19m to renovate with funding from multiple sources. Just think what that could do in Church Street.

Horden ha ha where did that come from is it rag week, if you want to get personal crack on but I was actually replying to Dstanley who in recent weeks has surpassed even in both talking shite and negativity.

I was at the Harrogate game thanks and I thought we should have won it even though they played some good football we looked to have more cutting edge and it was disappointing to concede such a soft goal so late in the game. I am only using to highlight not being much in the league and not reading too much into League tables so early in the season as they are top and we probably created more in that game than we have against teams you perceive as ‘weak.’

Hahaha I love it when PJ has a stand off with someone on the bunker I regularly check threads to see if anything is going down lol. You did have a dig at me the other week like PJ over my posting, Fuck knows why like. But like horden says it's a forum where you debate and he's giving his opinion on things.

Everyone’s allowed an opinion Smithy, I’m fairly confident I never make personal comments about people I don’t know though and constantly bang on about where they live though which can’t be said for a few on here. Horden’s rant were he called me a sad individual (he’s never met me, ok he’s struck gold this time being right but surely you need at least ten minutes in my company to decide that) was from a post that wasn’t even directed at him.

I have enjoyed horden’s posts over the years he’s not like me that much but he’s been to loads of Pools games and will have loads of stories about them, sometimes (quite a lot) I don’t agree with his outlook on the club but that’s sometimes the case with some of my best mates. It’s only football at the end of the day.

They certainly are PJ, Without to much arse licking from on from my side here I actually quite enjoy reading your posts, I'd read through a few off them you put some good points across fair does from what ive read you cant get to games as much but hey hoo, I've been to every home game and 2 away this season and I can't wait tinge Just because you cant go doesn't meen you are not allowed a opinion on our club, I would never get personal with people on a public forum with the "sad" comment specially when you don't know folk. Football is a game of opinions and the end off the day and people have different views/opinions.

Apologies PJ. The sad comment was out of order. I usually never pass comment on a person until I have met them. Make sure the next time you are in Hartlepool to let me know. I look forward to putting a face to a username.

During the lowest points of last season I got dogs off some on Facebook for having an opinion. Don’t get to every game, so for some that means anything you say is invalid. Pretty small minded when so many all over the country and world contribute to the club they love.
Ho hum.
Anyway, I’ll be there tomorrow so 2-1 win, 2452 (810 poolies), Muir x2

Fair play! enjoy !. I find the best supporters don't do social media. I'm giving tomorrow a miss, but normal service will be resumed at Salford on Tuesday.

Good result that, Now onto salford on Tuesday I'd take a point easily against them and keep our unbeaten run going, I see Leyton Orient won against Harrogate, This league is wide open for anyone to get automatic promotion, Looking at the league just then anyone in the top 7 can clinch ut.

Still early days, not sure if we'll stay up there. The stretch of games to the end of October will tell us where our seasons going.

Quite a few teams will be eyeing up a play-off spot, and a few teams hitting their stride now.

As long as we are still in touch of the play-offs in the early months of next year then we will always be in with a shout

Quality day out, that! Great atmosphere and singing, played well (we’re a really solid team now) and Noble ran the show, including the ref. Him and Featherstone together are untouchable- fantastic movement.
The Kioso song is a top addition too.
All in all, very happy!

I think that was courtesy of a Gary Gibson counting system, I struggle to believe that it was only 2/3 full in the away end

Muir 35
2398
766 away

Lend me your crystal ball horden for Tuesday night please.

Great we’re winning. Any sign of a goal from our strikers? Once again it seems that their role was to tie up the defenders so our midfield could score the goals. Hopefully we’ll see a striker score in consecutive games sometime this season.

It's all about winning. I don't care if we win every match 1-0 and a stray dog on the pitch scores when the ball bounces off it's arse.
Christ, we win....again..... and the nit picking continues

agree to a point but would love to see a really good big lad playing upfront for home games to give the opposition centre halves something different to think about with a more aggressive approach.
