It would be interesting to see how some of the players would perform in the team now. I think of the likes of Harrison Frank's Rodney etc. Say only one or two of them replaced existing players would they look shite or have their standard s raised with better and a more confident team around them. Or was it the club manager or set up that eventually screwed them up.

Where is Franks at now?

Feel a bit sorry for Dinanga at times because Muirs hold up play is essential to how we play tbh (I like Cassidy but when you think of how the ball used to bounce off him etc compared to Muir then they are worlds apart) and James is just a non stop pest so its kinda hard to sub either of them. Although part of me wonders if Bates just really doesnt fancy Dinanga at all.

Seems strange we often only make 1 sub at the moment but then again we have been holding onto leads recently? Maybe Bates is thinking too many subs is having a detrimnetal effect late in games?

Shout out to Magnay btw, never been a massive fan at wing back and next to Davies I didnt think he was looking too hot but since Davies injury and Magnay has moved to the middle I think he has improved massively. I think theres a big positive having a slightly quicker/nimble player in the middle of a 3 to be honest. Anderson also growing into the role, Eddie Kyle was not very complimentary about him at all pre season, he is unorthodox at times and looks pretty slow but he is doing a good job.

and on that point I think Kitchen won more headers in the last home game than he had all season, presume they been working on it as he should be a right handful on crosses from open play coming into the back post. Id be telling Donaldson to aim for him everytime to be honest. Obviously he doesnt get the ball as much as he should as Noble often seems to have an aversion to passing to him when he is space

Didn't someone on here call Anderson one of the worst signings in Pools' history on the basis of our pre-season friendly vs Spennymoor?

He signed after Luke James and Niko Muir so I imagine Dinanga was brought in as back-up in case the gamble on Muir didn't pay off. As it happens, he looks more than good enough for this level so I think it's just a case of not wanting to dismantle a good thing rather than Bates not rating Dinanga. I would have liked to have seen him come on against Barrow though, and I'm sure we'll see more of him.

Isn't it nice to have these types of problems rather than scouring the Boro U21 Wikipedia page?

If we're to play out from the back having a left footed centre back makes a huge difference. May sound daft but not having to cut inside onto his right to play the ball gives him an extra second to pick a pass. It's certainly going to be a hard choice on who to drop for Davies.

The point I am trying to make is if we put Harrison in our defence say with Davies and all the other players would he play ok?

Frank's is now bench warming for IBV in Iceland and has been there a good few months. I was at spennymoor and have to admit Anderson looked absolutely hopeless, I think he looks ten times better now but still seems to duck from headers a lot. I think he was just getting caught out of position a lot at spennymoor, maybe he just wasn't used to the role with three at the back.

I agree and with Davies as well we can cope with the crosses and high balls so that Loach is not required to leave his line so often as he is reluctant to so do.

After ten minutes watching Kioso in the first matchat Maidstone, I am on record of saying that I wondered how many penalties he would give away. However I think that he is an outstanding prospect that we are lucky to have. Furthermore he has come close to scoring with some headers and he is one of the first names I would write on the team sheet.

How he made it as a professional footballer I will never know.

I thought he was a real prospect and we should never have released him, he would be first pick in any team of mine.

I can’t see Dinanga being here much longer, I assume Burton sent him on loan to get some match practice not too warm the bench.

If you're talking about Harrison, I question your sanity. He was like a tractor in a Ferrari showroom.
