Well I never... little old Pools?

It's a good read though, how others see us - looking pretty good, as it happens

The usual pre-season piffle. We signed players last season who were proven at this level , Munns, Donaldson, Cassidy etc, but look were that ended. How can this be? maybe the problem isn't the players but closer to home. Only time will tell.

I thought this was going to be an interesting read about the relatively unknown northeast corner of Brobdingnag.
Imagine my disappointment.

Happy to have bowled a gentle loosener to get your season of bracing cynicism under way Mr. Horden.

You have a point and at the minute we still have Munns, Donaldson, Cassidy etc on the books. Even so, I'm gonna stick my neck right out and predict Pools will finish higher than 15th this campaign.

Well we certainly need a forward or two before we can even think of doing well, otherwise were going to struggle for goals. Going into a season, with just a lad thats played two leagues below last season and cassidy, surely is too much of a gamble.

 Finishing lower than 15th is unthinkable. I would be happy with a mid-table finish, with some encouraging signs to take into the 2019/20 season.

I agree. Cassidy had a good record of scoring for Guiseley , before he came to Pools, that's at a higher level than Nico Muir, but he struggled to find the net last season. We need a quality striker, but probably more than anything we need a goalscoring attacking midfielder or false no9 as they are called these days  Woods promises to be this player at times, but .....

We will be in top half easily this year , providing craig harrison doesnt make a shock comeback, we dont resign scott harrison on loan and laing, hawkins, cassidy and a few other losers from last year remain as far away from the team as possible. If we want promotion then thats different we will definately need one or two more players who can get goals regularly, it cost wrexham last year.

[quote="horden"][quote="billinghampoolie1908"] false no9 as they are called these days
who thought up that shit i wonder. a false no9 was a forward who signed but needed a guide dog to show him where the net was.
