Bates on the OS today pretty much saying Pools need to move a few out before they sign any more players. It's that or loan signings.

There's 5 still on the transfer list and Michael Woods I suppose if someone makes a decent offer for him.

Woods is under contract and not on the transfer list, surely that indicates that he's in the managers plans?

If they need to move players out before others come in I'm scratching my head at taking the year up on Hawkins and the new deal for Featherstone. Our centre midfield options are Woods, Noble, Mclaughlin, Hawkins, Featherstone, Hawkes, Munns, Newton and Donaldson. That's quite a lot! The last of the three are transfer listed though so it's those I suppose they are trying to move out. I doubt we want fees but it's the wages that could become a stumbling block.

Pools would have been daft not to take up the one year option on Woodsy's contract as he'd have been able to leave on a free if they didn't. That doesn't necessarily mean they wouldn't be open to a money offer for him - especially if there are no takers for any of Munns, Donaldson and Newton.

I'm confused here. Barrow have signed for Gateshead. Is that a bit like when Montrose signed for Partick Thistle?

To me it shows a distinct lack of ambition on his(Barrow)part that he would rather play part-time than stay in the full time game. Pools do not need people giving off any negative vibes!!
