Why do people think Portugal will do well? They were s hite and lucky as f uck to win the Euros.

Actually, I may have answered my own question.

They were pretty awful in the Euros the brand of Football was terrible to watch but they won it fair play, but it was a strange tournament all round and one low on quality. You need much more than that to win a World Cup for me I don’t see them as contenders personally. It’s like pretending a Greece were a good team in 2004. Tournament football is a strange thing though and I doubt any of us will get the Semi Final four and winners both right as normally one team emerges to throw a spanner in the works. We don’t have as a good knowledge of teams like Uraguay and Peru who could both surprise a few. The South American qualifiers are the most comprehensive bar to judge teams on as the all play each other, Brazil were ominously good, Uraguay came 2nd Argentina scraped in really losing plenty of games and shipping goals.

They have the one of the lowest goals conceded quotient from the qualifiers (0.4).

Don,t give a shit really.

England conceded 3 in 10 games (0.3) and two of those were the same free kick past the finished Joe Hart in the Scotland away game.

Couple of "FACTS" that may have slipped past un noticed

Engerland have now scored 4 goals in these finals from corners ......... every other time in history a team has scored 4 or more they have won the competition.

This is the 5th time in World cup history that 4 European sides have contested the Semi finals of a world cup (1934/1966/1982/2006 being the other 4) and on every occasion the winner of the competition has been either Italy or Engerland ........ and Italy are watching on TV

Almost forgot .... 2010 Pep working in Spain who win world cup, 2014 Pep working in Germany who win world cup 2018 Pep working in England ...............
