Why does the BBC feel the need to 'ram it down our throats'
They are obsessed, is it because they can't afford to show the men's game live, apart from the odd FA cup game ?

1) Nobody REALLY cares, apart from friends/relatives of the players...and a few other girls/women
2) The Women's PL games attract crowds of a 'few hundred'
3) It's shit to watch
4) Give it it's 'own section' instead of an "Arsenal ladies defeat Chelsea ladies" headline, alongside "Alexis Sanchez departs Arsenal for Manchester United."
5) No other sports website appear to ram it 'down our throats'.
Are the beeb under pressure from the goverment, to promote a sport (and also women's cricket, rugby union & league) that basically nobody is interested in ???

Bless..... sctatchinghead

There are other websites Mr Wardrobe, you could just read them instead.

Do you find all the 'throat ramming' exciting?

Doesn't bother me. There's loads of things I'm not interested in I've got to scroll past - Premiershit, Champions League etc. There's worse things the BBC do that are worth getting het up about.

Equality is great, it really is, but... there was an article few months back which was talking about Toni Duggan signing for Barcelona, which suggested that she was the first British player to sign for Barca since Gary Lineker....

You can personalise the bbc app so it takes out stuff you don’t want and prioritises stuff you do.

I've got to admit I've started to look out for the Hartlepool Ladies score, and hoping they can get another promotion - just shows how tribal being a football fan is. If it was Hartlepool Garden Gnomes and they played in blue and white I'd want to know how they got on.

The over-hyping of the 'women's game' at the top is ludicrous though, especially as it's the same old big club nonsense. At the weekend I heard a snippet of an interview about how Manure want a women's team now and a reporter from the Beeb is burbling on with one of the England women's team players about how 'big' the game is now and the crowds they're getting.

Couple of hours later there's a highlights programme on from the 'Women's Super League', table-topping Chelsea at home to Reading - at what looks like a non-league ground with about a thousand fans in.

I like it, if only for looking at the non league grounds, I thought we would never play at , but now do.

If you don't like it don't watch it , simple as that. I think its good that the Women's game is being promoted. It was popular 100 year ago, but the Men deliberately suppressed it, for fear of it usurping the Mens game, was that fair?.

nowt against womens football, cricket or anything else they play and good luck to em. what does sicken me is the total OTT coverage of it and the amount of time the local f.a. push it as well as the national one does. does anyone actually read reports about womens football as i certainly do not.

It is an emerging game though, and it wouldn't emerge if it wasn't publicised. How many people read about Darts, Snooker or Formula fookin 1?.

I agree it probably is cheap though, hence the BBC interest in it.

What makes me laugh though, is that already, despite being a relatively young sport, the big clubs are monopolising it, just like as in the Mens game , whilst Womens team of smaller clubs struggle to survive.

It annoys me that they don't differentiate when they put the headlines on. Stuff like "Chelsea sign striker from european giant" and it's Doris who's signed for them after she's handed her notice in at Aldi.

That’s the thing that sickens me as how over the top the coverage is now, especially as we only have four channels and very little in terms of outlets to watch whatever the fuck we want whenever we want. I mean it’s not as if you can’t just switch over and watch something else. It’s the same with reading material it sickens me when I go in the newsagents and the only available item is a newspaper dedicated to women’s sport. You sound like you should live out here in the Middle East, they aren’t so big on females playing sport out here. To be fair it would be fairly impractical imagine trying to mark from a corner? It would be like defending looking through a letterbox. Also it would be a commentators nightmare with both teams in all black with no faces on display. It would be jackpot for potential cheating though if we were getting beat at half time you could just stick Lionel Messi on.

Only joking obviously but I find it quite amusing someone lasbasting something as over the top whilst being sickened by something massively trivial  Football and Cricket have improved massively in the women’s game and maybe the coverage is disproportionate but I don’t think it’s a bad thing that young girls as well as boys can have role models and genuine aspirations of emulating those role models and become professionals themselves. I’m struggling to find a negative, if it’s not for you watch or follow something else.

The amount of coverage about women eating bread is completely over the top.

Yubep’s lass eating bagels is laughable compared to men eating full loaves.

Just bought a pack of 5 new york bagels for over the easter weekend, a new 'bit of everything' flavour. Garlic, chive, onion, seeds etc

She wont know whats hit her.

Pah! You should have seen the goal her dad scored for Pools. One goal in 280 appearances, but it was worth waiting for! :-)
