Even looking at that photo of the new set-up makes me feel more confident for the future.

Good luck to him sometimes people you don’t expect to be are just management material he seems to have had the dressing room from day one which is a big part of the job. Our youngest permanent manager by some distance at 31 I’d imagine? (MadJohn???  )

Glad that the two fellas who worked for nothing for two months have got their just reward. That's real commitment in anybody's book.

And what about Matty Bates persuading them to work with him for nowt? He might surprise us all yet.

Good luck to the three of them.

The way we've finished the season has left me feeling optimistic. Next big step is the retained list, hopefully we'll have a good clear out, although the evidence suggests not.

Speaking of retained lists, a certain Keith Watson was released today. If we can get him at the right price then he's definitely worth a season.

This is what the St. Johnstone manager said today, announcing his release:

"We’ve also decided not to renew the contract of Keith Watson, who has been so unlucky with injury in his two years here and that’s the main reason he hasn’t made the impact we all hoped, although I think anyone who saw him in his half-dozen starts would understand why we were keen to secure his services.”

Too risky.

Too good for this level yet I'd be surprised if anyone took a chance on him because of his touch of the Parnabys.
I imagine our budget will tighter than ever so we need players who will play most weeks.

Yes, a fair synopsis for a change, I agree. Good luck Bates.

That could be the most obvious wrong thing you've ever said on this forum.

Not really Bates is only a few months older and it’s not as of this Clough bloke who was the youngest ever amounted to much as a football manager.

I didn't see Cloughie's willy, but I did see Jimmy Mulvaney's and Ernie Phythian's when I was on a school visit for a project about Pools, very traumatising for an 11/12 year old!

How strange for a school to make you do a project on Pools player's willies.

If we could get another striking duo like those two I'd do anything they liked with their willies.

Er, no, on second thoughts scrub that.
