Just on this story that seems to be on most UK front pages today about Jamie Carragher spitting at a 14 year old girl, it’s why I have degree of sympathy for celebrities these days.

Of course Carragher should not have spat at them out of his car, he lost his temper and it’s a disgusting thing to do. He’s apologised personally for that to the family so that’s that part over for me.

Now onto the bloke filming in the car. He was driving on a motorway with his 14 year old daughter goading Carragher to provoke the reaction he got. He clearly had little regard for his daughters safety to get his five minutes of fame did he? That’s the bigger issue than what Carragher did for me and a problem with society in general, I hope gets a knock on the door and a driving ban. What sort of example is he setting to his daughter?

Carragher was clearly provoked. Yes the spitting is inexcusable , but what gives anyone the right to start filming someone and goading them at the same time. I agree , someone needs to have a word with the driver of the other car, but the law doesn't seem to work that way anymore in this country, quite often these days , its the victims who end up in the dock.

Carragher should be warned by Sky but not sacked. He was put in a situation and acted out of character ( off the pitch anyway  ) Now that would be setting an example.

Unfortunately when you live and work in the public eye you've always got to be on your guard, its shit but its the way it is now, that cultures makes you what you are but it can turn so quickly and break you.

He'll probs get a warning as he is a very valuable commodity to sky, the got rid of peter beagrie earlier in the season after a brush with the police (scrapping with his wife) but kept kirsty gallagher on for a separate police incident (drink driving)

Bang average footballer, thick as mince too, but he's a ledge, innit?

If I got nicked drink driving or punching woman, I doubt my employer would be as lenient

Even if you did get binned of Sky, some other channel would pick you, just look at that prick Richard Keys and his chum Andy Grey

Legend!

Getting sacked will probably be a great career move.

He can go on im a celebrity this summer, he can then pick n chose any foreign based premier league broadcaster he wants.

Could even start a podcast like joey barton has after he was banned from football.

Skys the limit, once sky sack you.

Would say he was a bit more than average Talbot, overated perhaps, but not average, certainly not England quality, for whom he played many times.

Didn't think you had to be a member of Mensa to comment of football games. If he gets another job at an inferior channel then that is further punishment, just like the man or woman in the street may have to downsize in their jobs because of a misdemeanour , surely you don't advocate people never working again because they are criminals or guilty of an indiscretion , especially if its out of character and a one off.

I agree, the man or woman on the street would have the book thrown at them, just look at all the criminals in the House of Commons.

As for the word LEGEND, is that not our fault as people , supporters?. Putting people on a pedestal, idolatry, hanging on their every word , asking for autographs, buying them a drink etc. I think the human race needs to look carefully at who we call legends, the word is far too over used nowadays , especially on people who were definitely no more than average.

The suggestions he should be sacked for this incident are crazy. The outrage bus can't have anything else to be outraged about today

The fella driving the car certainly needs hauling over the coals for his part in this. Surely though, Carragher has enough about him to ignore the fella beeping his horn, he has no excuse - it's probably worse than what Keys and Gray did.

Had a look at the video and the only innocent party is the girl, who sounds properly hacked off with her idiot of a father.

He sounds like he has a mental age younger than his daughter - typical Manure fan then. As for Carragher, Just goes to show that a Scouser in an expensive suit is still a Scouser.

Oh come on Phil, surely it’s obvious that if anyone goads a famous person with diabolical deeply personal vulgarities such as “what was the score Jamie?”, then that aforementioned famous person is absolutely within their rights to cover the young daughter of that contemptible ordinary person with as much phlegm as is humanly possible.
Of course after this perfectly acceptable act by poor persecuted Jamie, the person who should be castigated and called names is the girls father, the utter bastad.

Well she certainly had him squirming and grovelling.
You can see why he’s a pundit because he can talk a lot off the cuff.
Yet the divvy who filmed him didn’t have the intelligence to realise that if he put this footage into the public domain he would be breaking the law and done for using his phone whilst driving. Then again he may have thought I’ll get my 15 minutes of fame and suffer the consequences of a massive fine, points on my licence or possibly even a ban.
It certainly didn’t look like a motorway to me as they were probably crawling at about 5mph and if he had megged at more than that it would have ended up down the side of his own car, ever tried it?

Everybody involved should be sacked, flogged and then locked up for ever. Including the young lass and the bloke who filmed Accrington nearly clearing up dog shit.

Carragher shouldn’t have spit.
The parent of the child shouldn’t have been goading Carragher in front of his child while driving. He shouldn’t have been filming him when driving. Why was he filming him at all? Why did he keep parallel to him on the road while filming him ? The driver targeted another driver and goaded him.
If that had been a ordinary Liverpool fan who’d been goaded would it have made the news?

What kind of sack? Hessian I hope. Got to think of the environment, not to mention tradition.

People weren't flogged while encased in semi rigid plastics in my day. Well, they were round at Max Mosley's, but what has that got to do with Jamie Carragher? Or Accrington?

Having now seen the footage, unless there is some more , Carragher wasn't goaded , more like a bit of banter. Of course banter at the wrong time and place can be fatal for those expressing it. In this case the blokes daughter got gobbed on. My original thinking on this issue has now changed a bit, and having seen the footage it shows Carragher in a worse light. Still think he should be given another chance, and keep his job though , but I cant see that happening myself.

It maybe an idea to keep Carragher on, but not as a pundit. He should be paid less than the minimum rate and the only time he is seen in the studio is when he is either sweeping the shite up, emptying any waste bins or even outside on a ladder cleaning the windows especially when it’s pissing down. Then to round off at the end of the game dragging the biggest roller across the pitch, again when it’s pissing down.

I think I read somewhere it was the 4th or 5th time along the road he’d pulled alongside Carragher to goad him just that time he’s got his phone out.The reaction is repulsive but it’s like everything that happens in this media age a storm in a tea cup really.

The bloke is whining in today’s paper about all the attention he’s getting, what did he expect!? The only person I have sympathy for is his daughter who he’s also heaped a load of attention on. Oh and he’s whining through the medium of a full interview with the Daily Mirror with pictures. What a bellender.

I didn't know that. Heard he had abuse more than once during the journey, but didn't realise it was from same person. Yet again that puts a different complexion on it. Agree, what a bellend, what a silly world we are living in.

I hate mobile phones .

If your ever looking for something that sums up mobile phone culture, twitter, modern young people, celebrity culture etc this situation is it.

Man sees celebrity.
Man hassles celeb
Guy decides to film it not giving a single shit about his family in the car or road safety
Celeb loses it, prob gets grief non stop n ignores it but you can only suffer enough.

Guy sells story
5 mins of fame.

Guy then gets his own death threats n says leave me alone.

Everyone outraged at celeb, sack him etc

Now everyones just bloody sick of seeing it.
