Doesn’t matter how much you siphon down. Clubs will spent it and more just as they do now or owners will pocket it and more. Players will be the only winners as they’ll earn more money at a lower level.

The only true way for a club to be successful and outgrow the opposition is to grow it’s own revenue revenue streams both through football and diversification.

If the laws of a country and a sport allow/encourage this , and they do in this country, then yes it would be difficult to stop. But I disagree that it cant be stopped. Football fans as well as the people of this country put up with/accept a lot of shit, and it doesn't have to be this way. If we as fans were more proactive say like in Germany, then we could change things. The clubs couldn't survive without our money, we hold all the strings. There are some signs of non compliance amongst some fans in the UK, but its hardly scratching the surface of the problem. As fans we can put pressure on owners in deciding were the money goes , just as we can with governments, through the way we vote, withdraw our labour or take to the streets.

The football league, and non league, needs to enforce the 51:49 rule or something similar like they have in Germany that says all clubs have to be owned in part by fans. Fan representation on the boards would put a stop to all of this.

Would Coxall have got away with all these loans if he had to run it by the fans first? Would the oystens at blackpool? Venkys at blackburn? Bates at leeds?

It's all greedy businessmen wanting a slice of the pie.

Reduce the pie size ffs!

You probably read the BBC article on this today? Just common sense isn't it. As the Dortmund chairman put it, fans are members of the club rather than customers.

Its just like life though, they aren't going to change a system that makes those at the top a lot of money. All the rule changes of the past 10 years were meant to benefit those at the top, more subs, scrapping of replays, 358 countries in the World Cup Finals etc etc. Why would the government want to build more council houses when so many of them and their chums are making money from renting out houses privately.

That is why as fans/supporters we have to grasp the nettle and make them sit up and take notice.

If only 500 fans turned up at Pools next home game, it would get things moving, I'm convinced of it.

Unfortunately I'm also convinced that won't happen either.

To play Devils advocate to Mr Yupeb and Mr Horden. The problem is, say Germany, they are used to it as a lot of clubs were founded as "Factory/industry" sports/social clubs and over 100 plus years this is where are where they are. How can we change our culture of having owners/benefactors overnight? How can we stop shysters overnight? Unfortunately if a multi multi billionnaire wished to buy Pools(or any club) and invest Billions to win the Champions league, then unfortunately the Turkeys would vote for Xmas!!!

I used Germany as an example as "Fans run"/ representative board sounds good, but no other team in Germany can touch em (Bayern) financially (transfers, wages etc). Ownership/sponsorship seems to breed success etc, etc.

I'll put my helmut on now (see what I did there?).

I want some pie now.

Well someone has to be top , once you get there, the job in hand is to stay there, Bayern seem adept at doing this. Compared to the Chelseas , Real Madrids , Barca , PSGs of this world , they seem to be able to do it , without too much extravagance , and sticking to a code of ethics, such as not ripping their fans of with expensive ticket prices etc, maybe its just a German thing, its the same with their industry , union friendly and a lot of common sense exercised , and the way we do things is just a British thing.
