Seeing as I'm on garden leave I got up this morning to bright sunny weather and I decided to give the garden a quick lawnmower session. Got the lawnmower out and its started to friggin snow. What a great excuse. It'll have to be done, I've only got a fortnight of idleness left before I have to go back to work.

Its been gently snowing up here all morning, still is, wet though , melting as soon as it hits the ground. Could be another weekend without a game.

I'm staying in Barrow Friday night , really looking forward to it. Old fashioned ground, floodlights etc and plenty of industrial heritage. Intend going for a stroll around Walney Island Saturday morning.

Reckon it will be quiet, though the locals could turn out to celebrate the first time in ages the local team has beat someone by 3 clear goals

Decent boozer across from station, The Duke of Edinburgh

Yeah, only reason I'm staying Friday night is so I can wake up there Saturday morning and avoid the long drag on the train Saturday. Its amazing how long and expensive it is to get over to Cumbria, yet only 100 miles as the crow flies. Will take my time travelling on Friday, probably break journey with a pint in Carlisle and Lancaster, get to Barrow early evening, couple of pubs in Barrow worth a look, then an early night I reckon. Travelodge is near ground and next to an industrial estate, so it will be a Dominos Friday night and a fry up in Asda or Tesco Saturday morning. Barrow gets good reports from away fans, a bit like Hartlepool , much maligned , but for a football day out, very good they reckon.

Was in Manchester today. Wet and miserable. Walking through Chinatown at lunchtime, beggars on every street and half a dozen crackheads having a right barney with the office workers dodging past.

Never liked Manchester at the best of times, but this is not the best of times.

Much better today. Think I'm going to go out for a ramble.

Sounds like it could be soggy in the away end Saturday like, if its raining I'm in the home end, fook getting wet watching Pools.
