to embrace the phoenix yet sctatchinghead Cannot see us playing another game under our previous football club life rakxe Lets be honest its been one hell of a ride on this kiddies roller coaster in the past 110 years 95% on the floor level and the rare up and over a small hump that we called successes level. Thinks its time to ride a big roller coaster that goes up n down and gives both thrills and shocks but much more than the previous 95% from our deceased club. Look at Bournemouth Wimbledon Lincoln Burton Albion Swansea Bristol City Shrewsbury Huddersfield Preston etc All these teams have had major ups and downs and that,s what we can have in 5-10 years or so. I have a friend who supports Bournemouth and when we played them to get into the playoffs he told me you lot are on the up n up good luck. Now he says don,t stop believing in your club because my club has proven that anything is possible in football you just need a honest owner with a bit of spare cash and a 5 -10 year business plan along with a young ambitious switched on manager.

It’s time to be open to the possibility of it, the time to embrace it will be when and if the club is liquidated which is the last thing any of us want. A pheonix should always be and is a last resort, until then we’ve got to believe and hope the club will be saved. Its 110 years of history here and it can’t be discarded without a fight.

No more fundraising for the current owners though what has got to be realised here is that they are trying to squeeze every last penny out of the club, Sage’s bluff needs calling here. I wouldn’t be buying anything in the ground at the Woking game even. Raising further money for them could even draw out the process, if a takeover is going to happen the sooner the better obviously evenlooking onto the field if we have any hope of remaining in the National League. At the end of the day as well intended as it was £84,000 has not bought Pools more time it’s bought Sage more time to squeeze the life out of us. That money will make no difference in whether we go into administration or what happens after that, it has disappeared into a Black Hole.

It seems there is a slight possibility of an opportunity at the 11th hour with this idea of a consortia brokered by Jeff Stelling, but this is really the last opportunity (if it exists at all). No potential owner is going to buy the club minus tangible assets and a £1.8 million asking price. Either the club is sold at a sensible asking price or the club is put into admin with a cva or if that cannot be realised the club will be liquidated. At this point a Phoenix club is the only option.

We nonetheless need to have everything in place ready to throw the phoenix switch 10 seconds after the feared liquidation announcement.
If there isn't a battle plan yet there should be.

It is, but my worry is its more likely to be like a Workington, Barrow, Southport, Gateshead or Accrington Stanley than the clubs you mentioned.

Ultimately the decision is Blakeledge's.

If the club goies into Admin and he will not walk away, the existing club has to clear its debts, including Sage, to a minimum of 35p in the pound within three years. At £1.8m that's a £210'000 bill each year over and above running the cub.

£210,000 minimum before the season even starts. It could be a leveler in the National League or NLN, however that would imply we're in a better state than most clubs at that level. It is most definitely a handicap that would be very difficult to overcome.

Another thing to take into consideration is this country economically is about to enter at least a 10 year spell of job losses, stagnant wages, poor wages etc. Businesses won't have any spare cash to put into football clubs etc. As usual towns like Hartlepool will feel the draft more than most.

Its great that we survived all these years due to IOR , whilst other clubs were floundering, but we couldnt of picked a worse time to have to start again. When the likes of Bournemouth,Swansea, Hull were getting their act together, the country was awash with money, or at least you could get into debt, but times are changing, and I fear it will be one helluva long slog for us.

Too soon. We'll have to get a few levels further down the pyramid but one day he'll be back.

Talking of big Stevie, I wonder if we will make Grant Holt look like Harry Kane on Saturday.

Er, you mean how Hartlepool’s been for the last fifty years? The good thing about living here is never noticing recessions as we live in one all the time.
So, nowt new there then.

Aye, then there's the interest on the £1.8 million to consider and add on.

Remember in the summer when we were asked to embrace the new begining under sage.
Join us was the plea, Buy a season ticket and become part of the squad.

Well people made that commitment and bought a "SEASON TICKET" not a half season ticket.
Funny how Pam has not mentioned that or that nobody(Press) has questioned her on it.

As you say no more money, Lets take our chances and control the club with our hearts and honesty.

Very true Snowy, but I think what is to come will be even worse, cutting jobs, wages and benefits, there is no meat left, they are cutting through the bone now, and that will impact significantly on the football club.
