According to Mail,

Another player who Pools knocked back advances for was Blair Adams. The Mail understands the player was being eyed up by a League Two club, but Pools were in no mood to strip their squad further.

Surely this would have been an advantage to lose him? As the Trust says how do we solve the Left Back problem. So we sell a player who at least can take a free kick andd keep Adams, always up for costing us a goal a game.

Another strange move from the club.

I'd have rather kept deverdics and sold adams tbf.

Then again i think i could do a better job at left back than adams.

Not letting Woods go for nowt is interesting though. This from the Fail sounds wildly over-optimistic:

"And while that would have freed up wriggle room in the budget, cutting costs yet further, it is not something Pools considered, given that they still have aims to see out the season and give manager Craig Harrison all the tools to stave off the fear of relegation to the National League North."

Still, there's a scenario in there somewhere that sees daily 'the end is nigh" type threads on the Bunker going on for week after week, with fixtures getting played and points dropped...

As my mam used to say about her mother-in-law (grandma Dawes) - a creaking gate hangs longest.

Did they actually ‘not let him go’ though? Or was the interest in him exaggerated? I can’t imagine for a minute that they’d turn down any cash bid if they were willing to accept £10,000 for Trevor Carson who had two full years to run on his contract. Woods is surely out of contract in the summer and he could realistically be a free agent soon anyway so if Carson was worth that I don’t think it would have taken much. He probably just had the wrong agent.

Top scorer from midfield in a terrible side, with plenty of league experience - I don't think there's any reason to doubt that a couple of League Two sides were ready to take him off Pools' hands for free.

That would make sense actually if teams were trying to get him for nothing, as it wouldn't interest the various parasites involved as they couldn't cream anything off it, and they clearly aren't bothered about reducing the wage bill as this seasons financial negligence has proved thus far add they have already stated they aren't paying the wages anymore, so why should they care. It's all about fees, no matter how small.

So is Wood's actually still here or has he bailed?

Still here and available for selection, assuming there are any more games.

That's a plus, Least we managed to keep hold of a half decent midfield player in a absolute dross team plus he scores the odd goal or 2 and doesn't mind a 50/50.

Forgive me, and I know it's pretty much irrelevant, but when did Michael Woods become good? He's been bobbins for years. Okay he's scored a few, which is about time, but people suggesting 15K was far too low for him is ludicrous
