I am not sure people who donated would happy to hand the money over too people who are running the club and taking a salary from it.

Careful now. You'll be accused of wanting the club to fold and bullying people. You never know, some smart arse may even post your name on Faffbook and say it's borderline theft.

I've got 100 snodgers on ice waiting to be donated to the right Pools-related cause. For the moment it's looking like a one-horse race.

I went on just giving and noticed the Pools page on the home page. Other current campaigns on there are for a 16 year old girl to raise 10k to go to America for physio after she was left in a wheelchair after an operation on a tumour removal went wrong when she was 14.

Others included cancer victims hoping to raise 40k to enable treatments to hopefully extend their life.

Ours sits at 80k to bail out a company mismanaged financially and to pay tax bills and wages that other people don’t wish to pay.

Put everything into a bit of perspective for me.

Are you hinting that you're going to throw it on Bishop's tips?

Apparently, Mr Blue says that the money should go to the Trust...

... apparently.

Certainly does. Can't and won't fault Rachel for her efforts but for it still be going into the club despite everything that's gone on is against what I believe in, hence why I haven't donated.

Oh yeah. I'm not wishing to take anything away from the tremendous fundraising efforts on behalf of our club.

Shame her efforts could end up being in vain. I definitely hope I'm wrong like - don't want people thinking I'm happy for the club to go to the wall

Would you advise that? It could turn the 100 squid donation into a 1000. Hang on I'm off to the bookies.

Hear, Hear.
Justgiving should be for charities and other worthy causes. Hartlepool United's current caretakers are as far from a 'worthy cause' as you could get. Pam etc should be ashamed to accept any of the funds raised but, as we are now aware, shame is not part of their make up. I have donated to the Trust's campaign only. Rachel's efforts were marvellously well intentioned but, in my opinion, misguided.

Also, 5% of the amount raised goes straight into the sky rocket of Just Giving.

https://www.thirdsector.co.uk/fundraisi ... le/1297854

and it takes 6 - 10 working days for them to pay to the bank account of the person who setup the page.

I'll be screenshotted and quoted for this won't I?! The lady threw up a Just Giving page and social media took over. Sadly (FOR ME AND ME ONLY this is MY personal opinion which I'm entitled to) I don't think the correct story was told. If the sums that HUFC had received from player sales, ticket sales, the loyalty payment and the like were all mentioned, and the supposed amount of debt we were also in was mentioned, I'm not sure it would be raised so much so quickly.

I would personally happily thank every single person who has donated, especially the ones who have given up their time (t-shirt lady, people doing runs, rides, walks etc) because they have done it in good faith to help save our football club. But the simple fact is, the 80k donated WILL NOT save this football club.

Depends on the situation, purchase community shares, invest with consortium, pay for administrator, start up money etc

Fund Purpose: To protect the future of Hartlepool United Football Club
Having a Fighting Fund gives us a better platform to work towards the survival of our football club, allowing us to respond to the various scenarios that might develop.
The plans for the Fund will need to remain fluid as there are so many uncertainties over current and future ownership (you can read more about these in the FAQs).

Trust can have £100 come pay day if you add hitman fees to that list.

I have money sitting here to donate, not until we have a stable club and the correct investors or people in place the money will sit with me.

A turtle was happily swimming along a river when a scorpion hailed it from the shore.

A scorpion, being a very poor swimmer, asked a turtle to carry him on his back across a river. "Are you mad?" exclaimed the turtle. "You'll sting me while I'm swimming and I'll drown."

"My dear turtle," laughed the scorpion, "if I were to sting you, you would drown and I would go down with you, and drown as well. Now where is the logic in that?"

The turtle thought this over, and saw the logic of the scorpion's statement. "You're right!" cried the turtle. "Hop on!" The scorpion climbed aboard and halfway across the river the scorpion gave the turtle a mighty sting. As they both sank to the bottom, the turtle resignedly said:

"Do you mind if I ask you something? You said there'd be no logic in your stinging me. Why did you do it?"

"It has nothing to do with logic," the drowning scorpion sadly replied. "It's just my character."

Could a scorpians sting pierce a turtles shell?

They don't even have to give it to the Trust, donate it to charity. Have a look at the kids saving for ops abroad and the like. Anything but giving it to these fuckers.

Just pay local creditors for the good of their businesses/employment.

Valid invoices required.

As I understand it, you either use the money for stated purpose or refund everybody.

Would just giving still take their cut in the event of a refund?
Could saving Pools be interpreted as saving the name of the club? Could the money be used to buy the company name or would that mean the debt too?

Anyone else doing groundwork about what is an acceptable amount with the other half? Trying to root out the ideal amount where Mrs Congress Tart won’t divorce me, but will just not speak to me for a week
