Maybe he sees us as totally different situation to Darlington. We should be, as stated many times on here to be very capable of being a self sufficient club in league two. Where yes he wouldn't have to plough thousands a week in but he's still involved in a football club.

It's was well documented that the biggest issue was Darlington stadium, we don't have that problem.

I'm not shocked, I dont like greed or trust businesmen. They generally dont do anything for nothing and will do anything, including riding roughshod over anyone and anything to satisfy their lust for money and power.

Some sweeping generalisations won't disguise the fact that without at least one on board the reality is our club will go out of business.

Agree, desperate measures require desperate... beggars can't be choosers etc. Either way we will probably end up out of business, just one way will get us there quicker than the other.

I will in the meantime though try to remain positive.

Don't forget, football actually is a business.
As for businessmen, they have a lot in common with 99% of politicians as well.

Unfortunately life seems to be a business these days.

Yes , have to agree about politicians, most of them are business people as well, no wonder the country is fooked, but that's who the people appear to want and trust , rather than their own types, who in general they won't give the lickings of a dog.

You do have the problem of a shortfall in funding to get you back into the league though. I’d expect that once the parachute payment cash is gone you’ll be looking at minimum £500K per year needed to give you a budget that would allow you to compete for a play off place in the National league. If it is Raj I’m sure he’ll give it 18 months and if you’re nowhere near he’ll probably cut his losses around Jan if there’s no chance of promotion when the season ticket and sponsorship money runs out and he has to fund the rest of the season himself, leaving you in the same situation you’re in now as he’ll conveniently try and call all of the cash in he’s put in.

Whilst the stadium did have some large overheads it was often used as an excuse for failure when the actual failure was those in charge not utilising it to its full potential whilst they were busy trying to buy up the land around it.

You can probably look forward to Martin Gray too once York are done with him

I’d be amazed if someone like Raj is going to clear over £1m of debt just to take the reigns and then plough in £500K to get you to the end of the season and then another £500K next year to get you competitive. If Sage are willing to relinquish the debt which is the only way any sane person would take over then you’re far better having your destiny in your own hands rather than be in this position again in 18 months

Happy to help.

Top try Snowy but what if somebody in the dinghy has a suitable repair kit and the 'helper' is actually the biggest shark disguised in a suit and tie? You have to check for the teeth.

Same deal as the hospital ? Knock half of it down and build flats and houses, in return for a brand new hospital at Wynyard. I've seen the flats the property developers built on the Hartlepool Hospital site, very nice. Has anyone been to the new hospital at Wynyard yet ?
Might be interested in the land around the ground, cant see him putting money into the club unless the council give him the ground as part of the deal so he can flatten it.

Yeah something along the lines.

No doubt the plan would be to move the ground to Wynyard.

Sorry, but you can't repair a rubber dinghy if the puncture was caused by an orgy by the ten lucky porcupines that you carry are banging away and making multiple holes  I must also say that incidences of sharks disguising themselves in suits and ties are most unlikely, ever seen a shark putting a tie on ? bbolt

You are apparently losing £25k a week arent you? And thats without a white elephant stadium!
Raj was whinging about losing £10-£15k a few years ago. You reckon hes changed his viewpoint dramatically since then?

Same reaction as they have with people going up there to use the hospital they never built. If they can knock a hospital down and get away with it I'm sure they could do the same with a football ground. Would simply tell people to go and use the football ground at Middlesborough I would suspect. Put a free bus on for the first couple of months.

He would be in a consortium with Stelling and Trust so only responsible for a third of that. Do keep up !

So Stelling and the Trust can guarantee their share of the losses? Do you think the fans can raise about £8k a week based on those figures?

It’s okay, Singh will soon be the owner of the Darlington Arena once the charge he has on the stadium is defaulted on. Knock down the Vic and move you to his (once) shiny 25,000 seater stadium 25 miles down the road.

Yeah we dodged the White Elephant stadium but failed to swerve the asset stripping chancers taking out high interest loans to cover ‘losses’ and pay overdue Tax bills.

The club wouldn’t naturally lose that amount of money once on an even keel. Ken Hodcroft managed to run the club on a fairly self sustainable level for about five years.

Perhaps he wants to amalgamate the two clubs and play at the echo arena. Darlopool united.

What do people think... is it a winner??
