How many in the ground do you think we will get then with all the support from boro fans? I'm getting told there's a fair few coming along for the game I got told nearly a 1000 the other day but surely not? Would be great if it is near that number though, Hopefully we can at least get near the 5000-6000 mark would be great if Pam can get everyone in the ground for a fiver or a tenner or something I meen every little helps in our current situation.

Seats appear to be pretty much gone already. Surely a sell out depending on whether Boro fans can fill the rink end.

I think they'll be about 6800 there. Bit of a nightmare getting a pint at half time now!

I doubt very much that they even considered reducing prices with a large windfall about to fall into their laps from other teams supporters who want to help the club and are probably only going to help the people who have had a hand in putting us into this situation. They will have their pockets wide open.

It wasn’t a sell out against Doncaster, the seating areas sold out but the Game was never reported as a sell out this was the last update;

I think you will find they tweeted it was a sell out maybe a genuine slip but they did say the game had sold out.

I’m fairly certain they didn’t. The attendance was 1,000 or so below capacity so why would they have!? The tweets are linked to stories on the official site.

I remember it wasn’t as a mate was trying to get one on the Saturday but they wouldn’t sell him one as the Police had blocked sales on the day and they even said there’s plenty left (I think they said 800) but we can’t sell you one. He had to ahem, have a word with a steward so he did get in.

I would expect a sell out given the momentum that’s building up.

7000+ gates were the norm when I was a lad but whatever the attendance at the Wrexham match, I hope that we witness a team prepared to run and run for 90 minutes. Results in the NL show that any team can beat any other team on the day and it comes down to who wants it most. Harrison's MOTD possession style is hopeless with the current squad in the NL. Energy, enthusiasm and effort are required to force very average opponents into the mistakes from which most goals come. We can think about 'playing football' when we get back into the EFL.
Harrison's job is to recognise players 'running out of legs' and make substitutions that keep pressure on the opponents; something that he has failed to do so far. And as for the left back position; words fail me!

Hahaha I'm 28 and yeah I think the last time I seen a virtually full vic was the Leeds match.

From the second world war until the end of the 1957/58 season, Pools had home gates of more than 8000 95 times in the football league div 3 north. Add the cup games and that increases the tally. Add the gates between 7000 and 8000 and the tally goes up further ( I haven't found info on these ones yet). Every one of these games took place in my lifetime although I didn't attend them all. My Pools supporting life started in 1952, so I saw a fair few.
ye I know I'm an old fart.

No way was the crowd for the Northampton game above 7,000 though!

I remember quite a few times when Gibson was chairman the ‘official atrendance’ being met with laughter!!

Me Granda is 91 and he still talks about this game in the cup i think it was aston villa or something, he reckons there was about 17,000 there. Went to work on the morning on the railway and then headed straight over to pools with a tin of sarnies.

Good times.

He must have a been a slow walker or keen on getting in first. Only time we've played Villa was in 1974 in the League cup and it was a night match. I remember that the crowd seemed massive compared to a normal Pools crowd but 17,000 seems a bit high.

His memories not what it was, might have been a different team.

He's probably referring to either the Forest or Man Utd cup games, both of which attracted over 17000. Both in the fifties.

Didn’t we get 16,000+ against Leeds when they got changed in The Grand Hotel?

I was there! It was a Tuesday night game I think.

From what I recall we scored first (but I may be wrong) and that great big lummox of a centre half (Paul Hart?) equalised.

I do remember being about 10 yards from Tony Currie when he let fly with a shot that the Pools keeper took straight into the gut and went down pole-axed. It was the thump as he kicked it that impressed. I'd never seen a ball kicked so hard.

Probably got it all wrong, but it were a long time ago (about 1979?)

My memories are generally in the region of 1 to 2,000. Maybe I just remember the poor games.

Thursday, called off on previous Saturday and then again on Tuesday. 16000 tickets sold but probably less Leeds there on the night as few Leeds probably cried off , as both postponed games were called off less than 2 hours before kick off. Probably 2000 Leeds in Rink End on the night.

2200 v Grimsby 2 days later in the pissing rain

I started going as a kid in the late 70's at that time and what I remember of the 80's the odd decent crowd but 1000 to 1500 seemed to be the norm most of the time

Only 466 terrace tickets left on sale.
Surely an xtra 500 tickets should be made available as Wrexham sold less than 200! ( rink end ) easy to segregate.

I think they always sell the away tickets like that it’s probably just the order they are allocated/printed in.

Aye, I can remember during the early 60’s when it was a struggle to find a space to sit over the wall on the cinder track on the Mill House side. The bus seats used to be black going home.
