Interesting comments from Jeff Stelling on Tees interview this morning.

Interview is about 2.25 minutes into programme. Should be able to access via link below.

Cheers Kirsty/Kirsty's Dad.

Was also on Talksport this morning, didn't say much on there however, other than the way it's currently being run is not sustainable

Basically that he hasn’t given any money to club as of yet, he believes the current owner is a man of morals and he may walk away without the 1.8 million if it means the club can survive. He voiced his support for the trust and spoke of other clubs that have had success with that model. Also said that he is meeting on Monday evening with a potentially interested investor and will get to see the books. Also, he said that should it come to it and the trust were running the club, he would be willing to put his own money into helping to fund the club.

Ron and Jeff both came across well this morning and to be honest the interviews highlighted how important both the fundraising efforts and trust are. They aren’t mutually exclusive. Ron was quite right in praising Rachel and efforts to fill the ground - it’s generated a real sense of pride. Being totally honest I was a bit wary of the fundraising push because of where the money might go. I was welling up reading all the good luck messages though and seeing the generousity of randomers. £100 off a Chelsea fan for instance... damn it, I can’t stand them but absolutely top notch. The publicity is priceless.
Likewise the people elected to steer the trust are obviously keeping very busy and I think Supporters Direct advice at this time is priceless.
If we get through this it’ll feel like a rebirth. Hartlepool has a sometimes undeserved reputation but really proud of the efforts of all fans. Never liked the phrase Never Say Die but it actually feels very appropriate here.

I think it’s been as good a couple of days as the club has had for a long time in a strange way. Definitely some momentum positivity and hope building. Credit to all involved for the first time since I moved away I’m going to be gutted about missing a Pools game for the Wrexham game after feeling like it’s been a blessing that I’ve been away from it all this season.

We have a great little club and Town and whatever happens Pools will never say die!

My brother asked me the other day if I was going to the game. Didn’t think I could face it then realised I couldn’t not go. Our little club is bloody important to the town and me FFS.

Jeff just signed off football Saturday by saying ‘Off to Hartlepool Monday, hopefully bringing some good news back.’

God, I hope so.

This sounds all sounds very promising he wouldn’t be saying that on Live TV if he wasn’t confident!

Verrells’ opening hours are on a par with the club shop and no-one has seen their books. You might be onto something there.
