Aw! Now we will never know if he was any good or not. Seems ever since we started selling players for undisclosed fees, the club has gone down the tubes.

Probably be loaned out to someone like Accrington within a few weeks

Even if we got rid of the full team we'd still be making a loss. Unless we can transfer all those non-playing employees on over 100K a year. Unlikely as they'll be waiting for one last pay day thanks to the generosity of fans all over the country.

Preston are buying potential, as Peterborough did with Luke James. The big difference is James more than a season playing for the first team under his belt, whereas Simpson has hardly featured.

Hope the lad does well, but that will depend more on the coaching and support he gets at Preston than anything else.

By the way, as far as I’m aware Duxbury is from Preston, lives in Preston and is also in led to believe a Preston fan and friendly with some of the board at PNE.

What a coincidence.

My wife is from Preston. It all seems too much of a coincidence...

Barkhuizen scored 15 in 50 League games for Morecambe before he was sold, not to mention another 15 goals and 50 league and cup games for other clubs before Morecambe.

There's a fair comparison with Nathan Thomas maybe, not with a 17-year-old lad with 2 starts and 1 goal in the National League - who apparently had never signed a full professional contract with Pools.
