Those of us of a certain age will remember the grey blanket doing the rounds at half time to throw a few pennies in just before Ernest Ord briefly then Vince Barker's rescued us during the 1970s. Yeah and as I recall when the blanket came around the Town End some took great delight in aiming coins at the adults/kids carrying the blanket around, especially when coins missed the blanket and they stooped to pick them up. Could pay the laundry bill though. Not sure what sort of reception it would get from the Rink End.
