Cassidy had his best game since coming back from injury and Oates worked his nuts off as usual. Both knackered after 60 minutes but there was nobody on the bench capable of pressing upfield like they did first half.

Ah well, that was 50% goodish news. I tried.

Saved a small fortune not going to away games this season. Npower, Northumbria Water, SSE, Talk Talk and the TV licencing company are well pleased.

I went shopping with the better half yesterday instead.

Spent a shit load more than I would have at Pools but was much more enjoyable.

Good to see members of the Trust, Friends Group and casual guests using the C.F. yesterday. That's what it was built for to be a focal point for all Pools supporters.
The C.F. will be open from 11.30am on Boxing Day , 7pm on Friday 29th. and 12noon on New Years Day. Members and guests ,as always, are welcome.

Spent an enjoyable afternoon with my grandchildren at their Christmas party yesterday - I didn't even think about checking the final score until last night because I just KNEW that it would spoil my day. No pain or suffering from the inevitable Groundhog Day and definitely no satisfaction from getting my fifth prediction in succession correct - with correct scorelines in most of them I believe.

I predict that today will start on an unbeaten run that will last till the end of January. From the 6 games we will win 5 and draw one (today).
Cuddly Craig will get manager of the month and fortress Laing and S Harrison will jointly be awarded players of the month.
A thanksgiving service will be held in St Hildas to bless the reconciliation of all supporters groups.

Today's good news is I'm sitting in the sun outside a local bar drinking ice cold Estrella to keep at a reasonable temperature.
30th December, 21 degrees in the shade, what's not to like about that? (cue "Yes but it's 40 degrees here in Saudistan").
