You can have the burgundy passport,
which gets you into 27 countries without a visa, or a blue one that requires 27 visas.

How do I get an Irish one? Will have to take a look at the Family tree

Hate to disappoint, but the UK has bilateral travel arrangements with a whole bunch of countries outside the EU including the likes of Argentina, Brazil and South Korea. UK citizens don't need a visa to visit those countries for non-work related purposes and their citizens don't need visas to come to the UK. If on the other hand you want to work, you need a work permit.

I'm old enough to have had my first holidays in Italy and Spain a couple of years before the UK joined the EU. Didn't need one then, and would have money on the fact that holiday travel between the UK and EU counties will be visa free in the future.

The whole brexit farce gets more stupid everyday. Ah well at least the NHS will improve despite having less staff since all the foreigners will be shipped out.

But you're British, why would you want to go to those countries? Only reason surely is to fight other football fans who disagree on message boards.

 You know me too well. Think we are being a bit hasty putting the name of Northern Ireland on the passports as well. May end up having to re-print them all again if Ireland becomes one country :animals-dogrun:

totally true. even in the early 60ms visa,s were not required for us in western europe. just another scare tactic for the remainers to try and use.

I was trying to provide a bit of factual information rather than score a political point.

Though it's clearer than ever these days that misinformation, from all sides, is highly political and trumps mere facts time after time.

Mr Dawes you quoted countries outside EU , I mentioned the 27 countries inside it, no one know how it is going to play out , but I think its a good bet you will need a visa to visit some if not all EU countries in future.

Most countries I've visited provide a visa on arrival for citizens of countries that are higher on the FIFA rankings or have a more generous benefits system. At least that's my understanding of it.
