Just had a telephone call from a friend in town suggesting all is not well at Pools. I have read the recent threads on here and was already concerned but I am told this upcoming annoucement is not good news. Not good at all. My apologies if this is not the case but this person doesnt normally talk rubbish.

There is an announcement tomorrow. I don't expect it to be good news. I have a meeting with representatives of the Facebook group on Saturday lunchtime and by that stage all will become clear. I'm stepping into the lions den a little because there are some people, hopefully not all, in that room who have never met me but detest me but so be it, this is bigger than petty differences.

If things look bad after this announcement then everyone has a choice; we all put our difference behind us and pull in the same direction or we forget having a football club. It really is that simple.

Ooh is it the January announcement at last?

Sounds pretty grim but ultimately could be for the best if it is what I think most of us suspect. We're only headed in one direction at present.

I can’t think of much bigger than that.

I doubt they will mess with anyone dressed in combat fatigues , carrying an AK47 and holding a couple of hand grenades :animals-dogrun:

Let's hope that the owners are not going to punish us because they lent money to a con man and didn't do their checks thoroughly enough. Did the books ever make it to the supporters trust expert?

Not sure they would care who was responsible, if it was me I'd just want my money back.

Well if they don't think they are going to get their money back when they are running the club it's unlikely they are going to get it back with someone else in charge.

The club owes the debt to sage. Doesn't matter who owns it. If they don't have the money then they can't take the club on.

May have decided to cut their losses, it's unlikely they'll ever see the money again. They probably had some big dream where they returned us to the football league and got us at least breaking even each season and then selling us on.

Currently you couldn't pay someone to take the club on.

Still begs the question, why have such a large squad? Could have put together a tidy little squad of 18 pro's a couple of decent youth loans and used the youth team as backup. If they had come out and explained at the start of the season we would have understood. What's changed?

Does anyone know if an automatic 10 point deduction applies to club’s going into administration in this poxy League.

I believe the conference don't allow Administration at all, isn't it automatic expulsion?

Happy to be corrected.

Worst case scenario could be a replication of Darlo's fate.......

The club were eventually relegated to the Conference,[34] and suffered more managerial turmoil during the summer when Simon Davey and successor Ryan Kidd both left within 11 days, to leave Mark Cooper in charge.[33] He led the club to victory in the 2011 FA Trophy Final at Wembley Stadium, defeating Mansfield Town 1–0 with a goal from Chris Senior in the last minute of extra time.[35] Following a succession of poor performances at the start of the 2011–12 season, Cooper and his assistant Richard Dryden were sacked by the club in October.[36] A little more than two months later, Singh placed the club into administration for the third time in less than a decade.[37] A number of players were released and allowed to join other clubs for nominal fees in January before interim manager Craig Liddle and the remaining playing staff had their contracts terminated by Darlington's administrator.[38] Two days later, the club was spared from liquidation after a last-minute injection of funding by supporters' groups.[39] Enough funds were raised for Darlington to complete the season,[40] but relegation was confirmed with three matches remaining.[41]

Darlington 1883[edit]
On 3 May 2012, the club was taken over by DFC 1883 Ltd with the intention of moving into community ownership. Because it failed to agree a creditors voluntary agreement (CVA),[42] and proposed to play at a ground without the required grading for the Northern Premier League,[43] Darlington were relegated four divisions, to the Northern League Division One, on the recommendation of the Football Association.[44][45] Martin Gray was appointed manager.[46] An appeal was rejected, confirming that the club was to be treated as a new club and would not be able to play under the name Darlington F.C.[47] The new owners opted to rename the new club Darlington 1883.[48]

Well if it’s as expected then firstly everyone needs to put personal issues to one side and stick together.

It won’t be easy, but it’s something that we have feared for a few years now so at least hopefully collectively we have some ideas and connections of how to overcome it.

Or am I just being naive

It was a 10 point deduction for entering administration for us, just like the football league.
The conference do not allow any club to compete in their leagues (national, north & south) that has come out of administration without a CVA.
All hypothetical but if this does happen then the best case scenario is the Evostik league and the worst case (other than oblivion) is the Northern League.

They certainly don't want administration because the debt will die but it might be the best option for the football club to start from a clean slate.

Formed five minutes ago, no assets. It begins. A football club is a nice source of easy cashflow if you don't intend to pay anyone. Beware of chancers. They will be circling like vultures.

Wouldn't of thought it would be that difficult. If they haven't got a million pound in their personal bank account fook them , and a million isn't a lot these days. There are people with money in this country , like the Steve Gibsons of this world, then there are a tier of people below that , who are nothing more than speculators, jack the lads who in the past would of been gangsters and petty criminals. In Britain in 2017 you don't need to rob a bank or carry a gun, just wear a suit and talk the talk. Most havent a pot to piss in, all their supposed money is tied up in this and that, mortgaged to the hilt and living on debt, like I say speculators and chancers, with no ambition other than to make a fast buck at someone elses expense , and ordinary people and taxpayers have to clean the mess up when it goes wrong.

I can only think that the financial mess left by Goldberg and Coxall is way worse than Sage realised when they were saddled with the club.

I pray for two things;

a) A miracle, am Arab sheikh owns the apartment I live in, I might give him a knock.

b) That those two c unts are made accountable, preferably in a court of law, for destroying our football club. For nearly 110 years we have struggled on often lurching from one crisis to the next but never have we been as dire straights as this.

This is difficult for the Trust I think. Depends if the club are selling with the existing debts and liabilities (left behind by Coxberg) are part of the sale. If yes then that’s unmanageable for anyone apart from some mythical super rich investors who could appear by magic.

Like PJ said it’s a disgrace that people like Coxhal and Goldberg can effectively steal from the club within what is supposedly legal means which can’t be broUght to account

I think the statement from the clubs aludes to them being brought to account.

surely it's not difficult to get references on potential buyers, pretty standard due diligence which clearly Ken failed to do twice.

it's also pretty safe to think no chancer will be interested now, we've got fook all to offer them.

These days chancers make money out of running dying businesses into the ground, insure against what they would really like to happen. and bingo, quick returns. Thats why the ACV was an important step, though that isnt foolproof and I see ACV as a delaying tactic rather than total security from the b*stards.
