Back in force on Facebook, I'm sorry but I just don't understand this love affair with the lad from some of our fans. He was hardly prolific and had very limited ability but he had a great fist pump and fouled defenders so he's passionate! Sure he's a lovely lad but simply not good enough for professional football.

Fenwick, I liked a lot, and Id have him back straight off, because unlike 90% of our players in the last 10 years, he upset and got stuck into the opposition, and he is a quality finisher

Two seasons ago, i went the trouble of working out how much better Pools did points per game when he started, and it was remarkable

Its not the points per game stat (thats gonna involve me finding a programme from that season)

but 14/15

Fenwick 6 goals from 10 starts ...thats impressive in a team that was as bad as ours

compared to 2 players who have gone onto make it,

Wyke 4 goals in 14 and Hugill 4 from 8. Bingham scored 1 from 5 and he is doing allright in the SPL too.
Following season 6 in 17...not bad.

A player like Scott Fenwick is the last thing we need, we dont create enough chances for a striker like that who adds little else if he isnt getting those chances.

He also wasnt good enough in this League for Tranmere or York. (or for Darlo? in lower league)

I liked the bloke but it just goes to show where a bit of passion and fist pumping gets you with some fans.

Scott Fenwick is a likeable lad - him talking about playing for Ronnie Moore in the Everything's Gonna Be Alright season was a brilliant listen.

I quite enjoyed his style of play too, though he did spend a lot of game time sat on his backside complaining.

Surely the stat that matters is 2 goals in 24 appearances for York in this league last season?

Allright Yubep

In sept oct and nov 2015

Pools played 15 games, of those Fenwick started 5

of the 15 games, Pools P15 W4 D2 L9
Of Fenwicks starts in the same period
Pools P5 W3 D1 L1

giving a point per game (not quite as it counts a FAC and Freight Rover match) of under 1 per game without Dunstons finest and 2 points per game with the lad in, the difference between 45 points a season and 92 points a season

Spoke to Scott at Dunston away in July, at York he was played out of position and was injured a lot, when playing, lot going on at York at tthe time, its an irrelevance.
