Police given the power to Breathalyse people in the street if they suspect they are drunk!!!!

As soon as the Government realise they aren't making any money out of the Smoking Ban they'll target Drinkers!!!!

I'll bet anyone that the above will happen!!!!

PS....I mentioned this at work tonight and the non-smokers who think the smoking ban is great but drink....laughed and scoffed at me!!!!

They'll be laughing on the other side of their face when it happens!!!!

Within 10 years Pubs will be a farce....no alcohol, smoking or eating food that contains more than 5%fat.

You WILL sit down, drink water(Orange if you're lucky) eat salads and be miserable as fook for the rest of your life.

The way forward is private house parties.Plenty of gauge, 30 tabs and kebabs,pizza's and parmos all round

I once insisted on the police breathalysing me. They'd been in my house because of a scrap I had with the neighbour and told me to play it down cos I didn't have a leg to stand on being drunk. And all this was being written down.

I'd just got in from work 1/2 hour before and had drunk a single small bottle of beer, so I said right put up or shut up. Get your fooking breathalyser out now. They refused so I made them write down that they had refused. There was never any follow up.

PS I think that there will be some sort of smartcard system introduced in future, whereby you can't consume more than, say, ten units of alcohol in any 24 hour period. The pubs will have to be linked to a central computer network, so that when the card is swiped they'll know how many you've had, and authorisation to sell the drink will be refused/granted accordingly.It will also trigger a mass exodus of people from the UK, including myself.

Then you just use someone elses card who doesn't drink, or who isn't out that night.

it will no doubt be something with your picture on, everything else is going that way, so there will be no getting around it!!!

The police came round to my friend's house to take a witness statement from her, she had just lit a ciggie up and the cop told her to put it out. When she told him it was her house and he has no right in telling her what to do in her own home she was told he was working and her front room becomes his work environment.

The end result was the cop had to write his statment on her doorstep while she stood inside smoking her head off blowing smoke at him.

But it's ok for fecking prisoners to smoke in a Prison Warden's working environment!!!!

Oh....and it's ok for MP's to smoke in the House of Commons!!!!

Er, yes.
It's been illegal to smoke in public places, government or local government premises, schools, hospitals, or company premises since February.
The ban in Cafés, Pubs, Hotels, Discos, and Restaurants starts next 1st January.
People are watching the UK closely to see how the transtion goes, but surprisingly in a country where everyone but me seems to smoke 40 fags a day there has been very little outcry about it.

Of course whether it gets enforced or not is a different matter.

the key word indeed is enforcement, you can ban whatever you like but if nothing much changes with regards to policing the situation, then people are gonna carry on doing it. It depends what type of country you live in, ie one which loves to tax/fine its citizens - or one that doesn't.
