England u17s come back from 2-0 to win 5-2 against Spain in the world cup final.

English kids are bringing back pride to English football.

St George's Park really is starting to pay off in age group Football we are the strongest nation in World Football all of a sudden. It will be interesting to see where the senior team is in ten years as the talent is clearly there.

Class...u17 Spanish lads shaking hands despite losing. They had some handy players too, it wasn't as easy as the result suggests.

Fabulous performance. Even when they were 2 down you had the feeling they'd pull it back such was their control in the middle of the pitch. To see young English players so composed on the ball was wonderful.

To see a young English team not just made up of the strongest and biggest in their age group is revolutionary! I'm not expecting this to result in us winning a senior world cup but if the seniors played like this they'd bring both pride and excitement back. What's more the bunker would actually know England we're playing and let's face it, that's the point of St George's Park.

It was great to see them coming back from behind, and they showed great composure and resilience to come back. A pleasure to watch, and here's hoping they are given enough opportunities to bring them on over the coming years....

They'll only be any good if they play League One and Two teams in the Johnstone's though...

Really enjoyed that game. Foden and the other double barrelled named winger were unplayable.

Unless the Premiership clubs give these kids a chance to play, instead of blowing millions of pounds on overseas players, the English senior team won't make the same improvements. The big clubs would rather appease their fans by showing "look how much money we can spend on an exciting overseas player" instead of giving an English teenager his chance. Whilst the youngsters can develop their skills in the Championship or League 1, under the current regimes I can't see them being given much opportunity to step up to play in the Premiership

That’s the next step now. We’ve had lots of success at youth level this year but it means nothing if they don’t get a chance to play

I think it was Chalobah who ended up going on loan in Italy to get games. Why not loan youngsters to other premiership teams? They can't play against their parent club and could potentially take points of the parent team's rivals.

I hope the FA introduce a home grown quota once we're out of the EU. When the top teams all contain a majority of foreigners it's not hard to see why the National team struggles with such a limited pool to select from. Why should an overseas player be allowed a visa to sit on the bench every week? Surely the justification should be that if he's better than any domestic option, then he warrants a work permit.

Interesting articles on the BBC website about kids & academies. I hadn't seen pictures of the Man City complex before (never been interested to be honest) but that photo in the second article is very impressive, & yet their local talent still doesn't seem to make it through to the Premiership
