I enjoy a bottle of Newcastle Brown Ale every now and then.

A firm favourite amongst the local skinhead population in it's hey day, but a nightmare for landlords clearing it up.....horrible taste, i remember throwing up everywhere after our Silver Jubilee street party in 77..

Throwing up after a night on the Idiot's Broth used to be part of every North-East teenager's rites of passage.

Like asking for an extra hot Vindaloo for your first curry.

I am going to jump to the defence of Newky Broon here. Real ale is my poison, but if I'm in a pub or club that doesn't serve it, I generally drink bottled Double Maxim or Newcastle Brown Ale. I don't think Newcastle Brown is a bad drink, better in my opinion than John Smiths or Fosters, now they are sh*te drinks.

Newky Broon is strong, maybe drinking 5 or 6 bottles of it and you would spew. I do think bottled Double Maxim
( nicknamed Sunderland Brown Ale back in the day) is a far superior drink though.
