I'd say it's nailed on we'll get home to Newport County, failing that Redbridge Swifts or Truro City away, apparently Truro are the first Cornish team to qualify for the 1st round proper since 1969. Guesses will be taken for who that team was?

Other trivia from that season, South Shields got knocked out at QPR in the 3rd round, we lost in the 2nd round at Wrexham after beating North Shields in the 1st rd, and something else I didn't know between 1970-74 they had a third place play off in the F.A.Cup stpid

I'd be very happy with a home tie against Newport. For getting the last minute point that sent us into non-league and because Amond is scoring for fun for them.

Careful what you wish for and all that, but I reckon it'd be a great cup tie atmosphere.

Exactly what I was thinking, looks like Newport got a bargain based on his form so far.

The best thing for the club is a localish team with a big away following and a TV slot for revenue, oh and a home win.

it was falmouth who qualified last time just up the road from truro.
I think the tv money gets shared from this season so everyone gets a bit?

Blackburn away please. Only one of the big original grounds I never got to. And it would be a cracking day out as well.

Truro City away would be ideal for me - 10 miles up the road. But if Pools were to lose...Would never live it down. Got this horrible feeling it will be away to Tranmere Rovers. Ideal draw? Anybody from lower league or division two at home. Worst scenario? Wigan or Blackburn away.

I thought it was noticeable that when the draw was shown again afterwards the commentator said 'the standout tie there is Morecambe v Pools', I didn't realise we are such a big draw to armchair fans. This after featuring highlights of our tie at S.Shields too.

I would say it has a lot to do with Jeff Stelling making people aware of pools week in week out.

I suppose it was picked out as potential 'upset' as it's League v Non League.

Bollocks to that I'd be very dissapointed if we didn't make the next round after the draw. Morcambe are dog meat and have been for a number of years they are doing what we did and merely treading water until the season comes when they drop into the National League. Jim Bentley is still manager and Kevin Ellison still plays for them!! Nothing changes there. We have a pretty good record at that ground as well in recent seasons.

Always a great day out at Morecambe as well, some decent pubs.

When I used to sell Monkey Business at away grounds I used to meet loads of Poolies who had no connection to the town whatsoever, but started following us purely because we were shit. Then started going to games, then got the bug, even coming up for home games. It's like the Man United effect in reverse.

There's no doubt that Jeff has created huge interest in us, it would be hard for a neutral not to root for us when watching Football Saturday.

We've got a good record against them full stop. Only one defeat (plus one penalties defeat) in our nine matches, with six wins. We've never lost at their place.

plus their best results this season have been away from home. seen em once this season and they were flattered by a 2-1 defeat. good goalkeeper and thats about it.
