Sean Gregan and Brian Atkinson last 5 days as Darlington joint managers. That's only 2 1/2 days each!

It actually makes perfect sense. And will be better for them long term.

Martin gray was screwin them over and had too much influence there.

There trust is now getting pelters from the misinformed, the deluded and the thick fuckers.

All because they turned down investment from the bloke who put them in this mess in the first place.

I bet some pools fans will be sagging our trust off now and would also slag them off if they were running pools and turned down investment fro coxall.

Some people are too thick to deserve oxygen.

Darlo will be better off with a new manager once all the connections to Martin gray are gone.

They deserve credit.

Would this be from the same self- styled tough guys who used to chase Darlo at every derby game? sctatchinghead

They'll be better in the long run without that prick involved it's no surprise to me that he's shown his true colours.

An absolutely awful clogger as a player and his management style doesn't seem far removed. I feel sorry for York.

I still think they've made an error moving to a rugby field, I said it at the time I understand the clamour for them to be playing in the Town again but attendances don't even seem to have improved and seem to be throwing good at bad to try and make it Conference standard.

They turned down investment from raj sing in the summer. and rightly bloody so.

Its like a consortium made up of gary coxall and the tmh group wanting to buy us out.

I think he may be referring to the Pools fans you mentioned. No idea why...

Thought it was just a Supporters Group, although they are affiliated with Supporters Direct so not sure.

Darlington aren't run by a Supporters Trust are they ?

Not sure, but either way, I suspect our Trust haters will be saying that we would be doomed if we were fan owned, on the back of whats gone off there.

If they havent already.

Even though Darlo have done bloody well to recover to where they are.

It still wouldnt work without a sugar daddy at our level, according to some that have never been part of a trust.

Agreed, but like you say, the comments have been made idiotic or not.

Funny though, they never seem to comment about Trusts that are successful.

I wonder why?

I've seen a thread basically taking the piss out of Darlo fans. I really don't understand the mentality.

Darlo fans started a brand new club out of the ashes of the Reynolds/Houghton/Singh era. They raised money by every method they could and got a team together. They then went on a streak of successive promotions and now they're at National league level, one division below Pools.

I see nothing to take the piss out of but plenty to admire. Well done lads, to get to where you in that timescale is inspirational.

Oh and no, they're not a Trust and not associated with Supporters Direct. They've done pretty well without them.

Had they been in a position where Feethams had still been an option there is a very good chance they would currently be in the same division as us.

Given the chasm between the two clubs when they took over, and the fact they had no ground and a shitload of debt, it is quite remarkable they have done so well.

The gap has of course narrowed in no small part to individual owners at Pools running the club into the ground. Some would still prefer Gary Coxall to be in charge than even contemplate a community club with the Trust owning a stake.

I certainly feel I have more in common with Darlo fans that have worked hard to keep their club alive and continue to do so, than with some Hartlepool fans.

Anyhow, the one thing this does highlight is the importance of either owning your own ground or having some form of protection on it. In that respect we are very fortunate. God only knows where we would be if someone like Coxall had ever got his grubby hands on it.

I also feel a lot more affinity with Darlington fans, than all the spineless clowns in our local towns wearing Man Utd/Newcastle/Liverpool shirts.
