Just had a look and ground holds 3,500- how many tickets might we get?

York got 480 so I'd imagine it will be the same.

Agreed. And I am not sure we will be favourites to go through either.

In a cup we can't win (read every cup we've ever entered) we may as well get ourselves a juicy tie. Is anyone really that bothered about getting into the first round to play someone like Port Vale away?

We should still be favourites to go through but its as tough a draw as we could have got with a potential for embarrassment and 'chew'

The shittest team left in at home would be a great draw.

Trevor sinclair is probably already wanking himself into a coma over the possibility of us getting beat by nobodies on the telly again.

With regards to ticketing, we will get 500 I would have thought.

The Club should try and come up with a system that rewards the fans who have travelled in such great numbers to Away Games so far.

Impossible to do but these lads and lasses are the greatest fans in the world...a lot of them will miss out.

Its about as good a draw as we could have hoped for. The game will be sold out so its money in the coffers, and even if we just get a draw, it will pull a good crowd in for the replay.

As has been said, who exactly were people hoping for us to get drawn against that would have been better ?

An easier tie at home would have been a miles better draw, even South Shields at home, the gate money will be negligible split three ways the real money is in the prize money for progressing to the First around and beyond.I don't want to face the ignominy of not reaching the First Round Proper of the FA Cup and this draw is shit because it's about as tough as it comes against a team who are flying in a Northern League standard ground and hostile atmosphere.

I was there on Saturday the view is abysmal. Unless you get there early and get on the front row. It’s is flat all the way round, no elevation bar one stand the 2 container stands on the other side have the dugouts in front of them, far from being dug out they are actually raised up and block any view. It’s like 3000 people watching a game at the enclosure.

Looking at the other fixtures ours must be favourites for the BBC stream.

He's currently in the loft getting out his East 17 coat.

It's definitely not the easiest of draws but it will spark a bit of interest. Should be a good day out for all to have.

Would be good to have a decent little run to the 3rd round but it's unlikely so at least we have a tie that should bring a few quid to the coffers if we do lose.

If there is a live game it is bound to be Dagenham v Leyton I reckon.

Haway PJ, they are an Evostik North Team. You are going on about them like they are Barcelona.

Much rather be playing them than the likes of Tranmere, Gateshead, Wrexham, Halifax etc who we will be playing in the League anyway. It's a genuinely interesting derby game, and if we get knocked out so fucking what ? Main priority this season 100 per cent has to be getting into the play offs. Fewer cup games clogging up the fixtures the better IMHO.

Totally agree. Just wish it had been a home draw.

The bbc have generally picked upsets or games of interest given it’s on red button I think might go for a cup shock over that one

I watched their FA Cup game on BBC online a few weeks ago vs Bridlington and Shields were excellent.

Well organised, good shape, keep the ball well and decent pace too. It's going to be a real test but I'm looking forward to it.

People talk of banana skin but these are the types of new experience we need to embrace and try to enjoy. It'll be a good game and if we play to our potential we'll win it, but by god they're going to be well up for it

There are plenty of games BBC could choose from:
FC Halifax Town v Tranmere Rovers
Shaw Lane Association v Barrow
Buxton v Gateshead
AFC Fylde v Wrexham
Eastleigh v Hereford
Dover Athletic v Bromley
St Albans City v Boreham Wood
Paulton Rovers v Sutton United
East Thurrock United or Harlow Town v Ebbsfleet United

Apart from those mentioned - Paulton based on BBC selection method or Hereford would be most likely apart from ourselves.

Do any of the others resemble a derby?
Remember our Blyth tie got the nod largely because of the local link. It was hardly David vs Goliath.

South Shields have a player who has scored a goal to knock Pools out the cup previously. It was donkeys years ago but he still gets a game.

We should win this but I know we won't. A replay would be potentially the best result financially but South Shields will fancy their chances of getting to the next round.
