I once ran the line at Peterlee, where the ref was female and the so was the other assistant. I had to get changed outside while they hogged the changing rooms. They also got first use of the showers after the game, and by the time I got showered and changed, all the fookin food had gone

If that was Monkeybutt's story they'd have changed in front of you, shared the showers too and given you first crack at the food. Was there any milk on the table?

You forgot that their daughters and a passing guard dog would have also joined in.

I once got sent off by a female ref, she was about 5ft tall and I'm 6 foot 3. She came to games on a moped and "batted for the other side".

I've never lived it down!
