Easter never started a competitive game for us, according to ITMC. That is amazing, 29 appearances , all as sub.

Cant remember him been sent off v Blackpool in play off game , but apparently he was, cant imagine what for, as he was quiet as a mouse.

Also seen his finest hour v Nootdorp in 2002 when he scored 6 in a 12 - 0 win.

Cant remember him any out of the ordinary hostility towards him,, well no more than anyone else.

Signs are good but there's a phrase about swallows and summer that seems apt.

Got to say, I find it amazing that Horden feels qualified to comment on professional footballers, and the intricacies of the game. Having played in several games where he's refe
reed, I can quite confidently say that he hasn't got a bastard clue.

I predicted us getting to the playoffs at Cardiff to the midwife as I was being delivered. They all laughed at the time, but they aren't laughing now.
Probably because they're all dead now.

Your chickens are indeed flexing their wings Mr I.
Let's hope Craig Chewinggum is immune to the manger completely losing the plot syndrome.

I thought talk of sacking the manager after 6 games was utter nonsense and said as much but I challenge anyone who saw the Flyde game, which is up there maybe alone as the worst Pools performance I had ever seen, to not have had doubts about our choice of manager. Hopefully we'll look back at that as a real turning point in years to come.

As someone who always backs the manager longer than most, I firmly expected a sacking and thought it would be deserved....im over the moon that Harrison and the squad are coming through and proving their worth.

Today was outstanding considering we were thoroughly outplayed for 40 minutes. We showed great character and determination to get back into it.

Over the moon.

Hoy, I'm not usually right about football but it seemed a bit knee jerk to me. Maybe I had the benefit of not seeing the Fylde horror show.

I missed the Flyde game but Bromley was an utter disgrace and I was happy to see the back of him after that woeful performance where it appeared Harrison was out of his depth. Happily he's turned it round (primarily with the replacement of both centre halves and dropping the woeful Newton) and today was fantastic.

What a difference a few weeks makes.

I'm becoming more convinced that Harrison had less to do with the nine signings than initially disclosed (except for Cassidy) as signings since have been of a better quality. Hopefully this bodes well for any future striker coming in.

The key for the turnaround for me is

Franks coming in
Amond going
2 new centre backs
Newton Dropped
Deverdics at lb

Harrison doesnt seem to be a stubborn manager, as hes left out around 4-5 of his new signings and isnt trying to get them back into the team just yet.

I also think the return of fetherstone is key as he gives us a bit of calm on the ball in centre mid.

Maidenhead was bad and Bromley not much better. Then came Fylde which was as bad and as insipid as anything I have seen in over 50 years. At that point I was beginning to doubt the motivational skills of Harrison. But fair play, he sorted the problem out at the back and the confidence has flooded back.

I still reckon it's too early to give a sensible opinion.
The last manager I can remember who turned an indifferent start around was Danny Wilson. But it took like till November to really confirm it.
In his case it was the Jon Daly magic week that triggered the upsurge.

I think a better balanced view of why the start of the season was so dire comes from Loach and Magnay in the film BT showed before the Orient game:
http://sport.bt.com/hartlepools-long-ro ... 4213160256

It's obvious that back in August Craig Harrison thought the side would be allowed to play more football in the National League than turned out to be the case - and him chopping and changing formations and line ups didn't help.

He's done a great job since then adapting the side's play to the sort of football that is going to get results in this League -"going forward and back not side to side", "keeping the opposition on the back foot" and so on. As Carl Magnay says, it's not pretty but it's effective!

He's certainly picked the right team to play a pressing game, and getting Watson and Ledger in and Amond out has made a huge difference. But pretty much everybody in the team was struggling at the beginning of the season - I didn't see the Fylde game but the Dover, Chester and Maidenhead games were bad enough.

Don't see the point of slagging off the likes of Donaldson and Newton on the basis of looking rubbish in a few games in August - all those new signings are going to feature again at various points in the season. Donaldson already is (and doing better in spells) and Lang will be playing on Saturday, likely as not.

Got to hope that a few of them at least will be able to turn their form around the way Lewis Hawkins has!

I've got a feeling Louis Laing will look much better alongside Michael Ledger than alongside Scott Harrison.

I'd probably say results wise I'd give this season 7/10 so far, I haven't seen enough games to judge performances but I think all things considered Harrison's doing ok
