Big, tall physical side.

We could struggle, a lot will depend on how Ledger and Watson deal with them but they look upto the task so far. They could well target Deverdics at left back like with that pesky LDB.

Imagine Simpson wont have it as easy as he did against Maidstone either - they generally just let him jump and win headers etc with hardly any physical contact. Cant imagine that be the case here.

Tight game with 1 goal in it.

19 goals in 8 games, defence will need to be on top of their game. If people think we are good enough to make a play off push, top 2 etc, then this could be viewed as a top of the table clash, therefore a draw wouldn't be a bad result , sure Dagenham will feel the same , and may play it cagey themselves.

Our youthful forward line will be rampant. 3-1 to Pools even though we're having to play two places at the same time. Harrison arrives sporting a neat French crop and the ref goes off with an Achilles tendon injury.

Yeah, Dagenham have scored a few but they've let in more than us, so there's hope. Too close to call so I'm going 6-5.

Should have been 4-0, two incorrectly ruled out, cross bar hit twice.

Onwards and upwards, get out of the way Daggers.

Draw for me.

Granted we've not been great, but Dagenham only managed to draw at AFC Fylde, Maidstone and Eastleigh in their last three away games.

I think we'll cancel each other out.

87-87.

Just noticed Dagenham have conceded more than us this year and they've drawn their last three away games... I'm trying to convince myself we can do this, but if I were to use stats in regards to us I would be able to order the Dagenham case. 2-2 draw is my prediction, I'll go with Woods and Simpson for the goals with 3676 there - 102 from Dagenham.

I don't know if anyone has said this before but I think he is too good for this league and should be playing for a league two side, except any which aren't flirting regularly with relegation. Top player. Keep it going.

In a league with little quality, it is clear that any team can beat any other; winners are the teams that want it most and are prepared to work hard for a result. Pools can get into the playoffs provided the limp wristed early season performances are a thing of the past.

I thought first half we got absolutely battered, they could have been 4 up easily. 2nd half we started the same but gradually started to find a bit of fight. Franks took the goal well but it really was a smash and grab.

Daggers were very, very skilful, very tippy-tappy and very clever.

Unfortunately, they were playing the mighty Hartlepool United who fought like fuck for a fantastic, well deserved win.

Match report over.

Make no mistake loach was outstanding today and overall a backs to the wall game how ever we took our chance and they missed theirs so a bit of luck today.
Overall the team is battling the defence is playing well how ever one disappointing aspect today was up front they tried but they are only kids learning the game.
For me keep the same team that we had on from the 65th minute minus Donnelly and just see how we go from there.

Pretty simple that have a solid defence and have a chance.

Amazing what 2 competent centre halves can do to a team. Watson was outstanding, loach also up there to challenge for man of match but it highlights how Scott Harrison shouldn't be back on pitch for us ever if possible. Some of 1 on 1 situations Watson found himself in would of led to chance/goal if Harrison was in same position

Dagenham were a very good team going forward. Loach excellent. Defence held firm considering their number 10 looked a hell of a player.

We struggled to get forward in the main, Simpson struggled as did Rodney.

Sheer determination and effort won us the match. Magnay and Hawkins excellent. Can we sign that Scottish dude please? He's a class above and very unlucky not to have scored himself.

Absolutely delighted with that result, especially as they were unbeaten before today. How did Oates play when he came on? Couldn't make it to the game today.

Oates looked tired when came on but grafted and helped to battle to the 3 points.

Think Rodney struggled today especially but maybe expected against a better team than Maidstone were last week. Thought Simpson won a reasonable amount but dagenham were a good side and could see why top before game kicked off.

We need to do everything can to make sure Watson stays even till end of season

Pools still dragging 11 men back into the box for corners.
Dagenham didn't, they positioned 3/4 players between the our box and the halfway line meaning any clearance came straight back.

Funny moment today, their right back who came on as a sub (and was fucking abysmal) fell over the ball and airshotted it out for a throw in. Rhys Oates and Michael Woods just pissed themselves laughing at him.

Bloody brilliant to have that feeling back of winning when we should have got beat - talk about grinding out a result!

Watson, Ledger and Magnay all had good games at the back but who gives those MoM awards at the end of the game? Scott Loach made at least four fantastic saves to keep us in the game in the first half and a couple more in the second. Apart from flapping at one cross his performance was faultless. I'm happy to forgive the manager for a couple of duff signings because getting Loach in is different class.

Hawkins was the pick of the midfield - dunno what he/the manager/the coaches have done to turn his head around but he's unrecognisable from the player who was struggling in the first couple of games.

We beat a better team today - still work to be done (and if Cassidy is going to be out for a couple of months I hope Craig Harrison can find an experienced forward who can lead the line because the cupboard is bare in that regard without him) - but Pools are back!
