It's Larsen Oil and Gas.

Is this the same guy who was rumoured to be off to Sheff Wed, if so this could be a way of hinting his committment...

Anyhow, could this Larsen/Larson guy be giving us mysterious messages?

IOR are like artists, they don't show things through print all the time, they send us cryptic messages and pictures and sponsor deals...

The new sponsor is Larsen Oil & Gas, not Lawson. So it could be the same guy.

As you can probably tell from looking at the LOG logo it has IOR as a parent company (how many children do IOR have! They must be Catholic!)

As with Dove Energy, a Google search of Larsen Oil & Gas only brings back annual reports of IOR or DNO.

Some interesting facts about IOR/DNO/LOG:

5% of DNO owned by Larsen Oil & Gas.

A vast proportion (90+%) of Larsen Oil & Gas is owned by Berge G Larsen.

Berge G. Larsen is employed by Increased Oil Recovery Ltd and as at 2004 he indirectly owns 32% of IOR

There's probably more interesting stuff, but I should do some work!

The people who didn't like the red and black with the big DNO logo on it should be happier with this one as it looks a lot smaller.

I hate this "At least one new post has been made to this topic. You may wish to review your post in light of this" because now I have nothing to say.

Anyhow, is Larsen the majority shareholder of IOR or does someone have a bigger stake like Unclue Ken, what is his share?

ALLEGEDLY.

Isn't the Iraq part fact? I was under the impression that DNO were the only Western company to have a permit to drill in the region shortly after it kicked off. I can't remember where I read it - a translation from http://www.dno.no possibly....

Too true, me old mucker, too true.

To be fair, I couldn't give two hoots if Pools are sponsored by IOR's kids or New County as long as we're doing the business on the pitch.

I must admit I find it strange that there's little on the internet about IOR and all it's related companies - and I have to say that it worried me back in 97, now though it's not an issue - the fact that the annual reports which are available seem to paint a rosy picture of Aberdeen's finest (not mentioning the large sums of money seemingly written off on the club) is heartening.

Bugger, I've just noticed that my avatar needs updating, watch this space..... Yay, it's a beauty

To be honest, I if were a CEO of a listed company, I'd want as little as possible about my personal finances out there in the public domain!

I remember having a root around Companies House records a couple of years ago and not being concerned about anything. If I remember correctly, IOR is owned by a Jersey Trust which presumably holds the Larsen family assets. All very tax efficient and nothing to worry about - trust me, it's my specialist subject.

Oh, er, allegedly like.

best not to dig too deep mr croydon, some people dont like it.

dont look for an ior website, you wont find it. or anything much else about it on da net. or how mr h can afford to pish away 3 million bar.

mr berge larsen on the other hand is a very very lovely man. he also has a lot of money. 3 million quid to him would be loose change.

when we raised this stuff in the past most people accepted that it didnt really matter whose money it was as long as they didnt want it back. and that yes, oil companies are global bastards of the highest order, but they are also global bastards of the highest order with enough money to pay duffys transfer fee.

ive just got back in sir kens good books so i aint doing no more digging on this one.

No one gave a shite were a number described only as X previous chairmans money came from - so why care now.
club alfoat - everyone happy.
