You are never going to get anything other than an awful game when one team has no interest an attack whatsoever. Far too many of these games are like that in qualifiers.

From what I can see they have only conceded 3 goals or more three times in their last 21 games. So they are hardly as shite as San Marino or any of that lot.

They aren't utterly shite.

England haven't lost a qualifier for 8 years so obviously aren't as bad as that, we're certainly not in the top class bracket of teams at the top the tournaments have proven that though. I'm really sure what money has to do with it, other countries players at a similar level to England don't get paid in buttons.

To be fair to the original OP, I did know they were playing, but was frightened to mention it, in case I got shouted down. Was meaning to watch it , but ended up having a sneaky few drinks and got home for second half. Had daft bet England to win 4-1 Defoe first scorer. Imagine my surprise when got in just before ht and score 0-0, FFS! the equivalent of Hamilton v A load of players on 100k + a week. Yeah quality told in the end, but deery me , no chance England will win a major tournament , not even make Quarter Finals, even if they do allow 168 countries in next World Cup

fault with how they play is down to management, any optimism of us winning anything is at an all time low.. considering how 'great' we are is the best we can attract for the job Gareth Southgate? ffs the twat wouldn't even be there if he didn't miss that penalty..

Seen it time and time again, okay poor against such sides, wait for them to tire and lose concentration and bag a few easy goals. It looks good on paper so from now on that's how I'll watch England and I shan't be disappointed. Until they get to a tournament anyway.

Yep got that already.

Point being they are paid like they are masters of their craft. When in fact they are bang average.

All these terrible qualifying round games against countries with populations smaller than Peterlee are FIFA's fault.

It's bonkers that minnows have to play each other in several qualifying rounds to get a chance against a big club in domestic cup competitions, but San Marino (for example) gets home and away legs against Germany in a World Cup qualifying competition.

An unfathomably stupid waste of everybody's time.

Should hopefully give them some incentive to improve with actual winnable/drawable yet officially competitive fixtures.
