Awesome today, back to his best of a couple of years ago.

Shame you don't get stats at this level because god knows how many miles he ran.

More winning tackles than I've seen from anyone in a very long time as well.

Definitely MOM for although not one bad performance today.

The standard is now set, they have shown they have the ability if only they match it with effort.

Never again must we be exposed to last weeks disgrace.

7 days ago was a new low, but as with POOLS we cannot get carried away, but I am pleased to hear players ran their hearts out that is all we have ever asked at Pools.

Too right - he's never been right since he got crocked at York - but he was top notch yesterday!

In the last photo on the Official Site's Action Replay, isn't he wearing one of those vests & monitor which tracks a player's performance?

They all wear them sports bras during games yes. You can just about notice a buldge in the centre of their backs if your eyes are as youthful as mine.

It's no surprise that the central midfield 3 today was Hignetts 1st choice three that went on that great run not long after he 1st took over. On its day it is a very good midfield. Unfortunately the 3 of them have never been consistent. Maybe dropping down a level might help them get that consistency, but the graft level yesterday HAS to be the minimum expected going forward.

The midfield has been cited as our major problem by the intelligentsia all round for a long time, there may be some truth in it based on our inability to consistently dominate games. However most of the goals I saw conceded last season came from crosses from the flanks and hoofs down the middle. This season we've conceded most of our goals down to piss poor individual mistakes by defenders.

For me it's no coincidence that we've signed a couple of good defenders on first evidence at centre half and we've stopped conceding stupid goals. This has been main priority for a long time, it wasn't addressed pre-season but hopefully has now (early days of course)

Got to agree, decent centre back comes in and we look a different proposition
