The new street lights seem to make the streets darker or is it just me who thinks this is the case sctatchinghead

The beams are designed to be directed down and highlight specific areas as opposed to going all over the surrounding area. I was talking to an electrical engineer about this last year and he said don't blame the LED lights, blame the size of them.

When I say I spoke to an electrical engineer, I should point it it was more of a tedious lecture because I complained of the poor lighting at a location that shall remain nameless. He went on and and on and on till eventually it was burnt onto my brain.
