Why are the media so obsessed with what happens in the States? If you get some tropical storm in Banglaesh and 35,000 are swept away it's a footnote in the news.

Quite agree, Snowy. It has got to the stage where their news is taking precedence over our own. We are being influenced more and more by the 'septics' and it wouldn't be so bad if it was beneficial but we seem to be aping a lot of their more unpleasant traits.

For them to continually proclaim that they are "The greatest nation on earth" with all their inner problems is a piss-take.

How can they be taken seriously when every time an 'incident' occurs, they need half a dozen attempts to explain them? I think in common parlance, that is called lying.

Pretty sure even their own people saw through this greatest nation on earth hype some time ago. But getting back to the subject, never mind Texas, what about Barbados and co. who got spanked by the very same storm before they did?

What people don't realise there are thousands of Americans living in Trailer Parks, there are some very poor people in the States.
Bush never visited New Orleans when it was hit by Hurricane Katrina, he sat on his backside playing guitar in San Diego, basically down too the colour of the skin of the people who lived there.
I was in the States at the time and a white guy openly said too me why should we help the black people in New Orleans out because they won't work.
