It was a rotten game in all fairness but it was nice to see players throwing themselves in front on the ball, winning headers and putting some graft in. There was virtually no football played by either side but I'd take ugly wins and hard fought clean sheets every day of the week!. I do though worry about the lack of creativity, we rarely look like scoring and didn't really test the keeper, really do need a left winger with some pace and another striking option.

It was a massive relief when that whistle went and I hope we can follow it up on Saturday. Got to say Watson had a cracking game, franks put a really good shift in and that double save my Loach was world class,we have a very good keeper on our hands.

This will be a huge relief for Harrison but if we don't win on Saturday then he will be back to square one! Glad he just went back to basics, keep it solid and hard to beat then take your chance when it comes along. All in all, a rotten ugly game but sometimes it's good to just grind it out.

I dont know if I've mentioned the silky skills of the left winger Jack Blackford on here before, but he should be playing. Fact.

We definitely need to sign another striker but Oates could be a great option to come back into the squad. Offers a lot of energy and pace going forward, could be interesting to see him up front partnering Cassidy. Nice to see Simpson getting a chance but would love to see blackford at least on the bench ahead of Munns, I still believe Munns has potential to be a great player for us but he could do with being made to fight for his place in the match day squad.

I think Loach has been really impressive both in his attitude and performances, he wore the captains armband on Saturday and was the only one to front up in a toxic atmosphere.

Winning ugly football keeps the wolves from the door, but once the winning stops, it's just ugly football.
I'm old fashioned in the sense I like to be entertained as well. Am I asking too much?

Simpson should start next game instead of Rodney, kids no worse than him and might be a nice surprise package - Luke james was doing the damage for us from an early age.

Harrison needs to start playing the same starting 11 week in week out, whoever it is. It looks like we have a squad of players who are injury prone, so injuries added to Harrisons usual chopping and changing is a recipe for disaster, but where and when possible needs to give players who are fit a run of games.

Thought the overall effort and commitment from Pools was terrific. Don't agree with PJ that the atmosphere was toxic although I found our huge Pools following really quiet and apprehensive. Guiseley were poor and had little going for them apart from a bit of physicality That double save from Loach was world class, quite incredible. If CH is to get the best from Cassidy as an old fashioned blood and guts striker he's got to have someone feeding of the flick-ons and won balls. That job,i think was given to Rodney, who just stood too far off Cassidy to make any use of the hard work he put in. Blackford is a class act who can get a good ball into the penalty area for Cassidy. Why he's not in the squad is beyond me. Is he injured or what ? Onwards and upwards Pools. At least I was happy with yesterday's performance even Scott Harrison put a decent shift in.

What disappointed me yesterday was the complete lack of composure from footballers who probably consider themselves League standard, aimlessly booting the ball forward when in possession near the end when it was simply going to come straight back was crazy. Clearing danger is one thing kicking it hard forward when in possession in midfield is something that gets coached out of schoolboys learning the game.

The other odd thing is not leaving an outlet up field when defending corners or in our half free kicks, its invites pressure.
Seemed a lot of walking wounded at the end of the game, Cassidy, Rodney and Harrison.

Lets hope our luck has changed.

I think PJ was referring to the atmosphere at home on Saturday, not the Guiseley match

For goodness sake will Harrison give Blacford a game and we will find out once and for all if he is any good.Hardly anybody has seen him play. None of recent managers have picked him and he is on the bench for the reserves more than he starts.
Obviously he has something as Everton and Rangers had a look at him but neither took it any further.

There is a good reason he was on the bench a fair bit for the reserves, A.Triallist was always a striker or winger and if your not one of the boys, bench meat.

Funny we have had three managers over the last year and he hasn't been 'one of the boys' for any of them.
I think it may be the physical side they look at.

Cracking double save by Loach.
