Reduced crowd meant hardly any queue for the bar at half time

Seems like the groundsman is the only professional left at the club.

On another note. Just looked back through the predictons for the season. It seems Mr Horden is owed a few apologies.

Not that he will be happy being right.

What a mess.

Watson looked decent amidst the chaos and I like Loach

Deverdicks looked really fucked off when he saw he wouldn't be going on, I liked that reaction cos I wouldn't want to have been thrown into that manure pile

Harrison reduced his "you knows" by 50% in his after match interview.

That bloke must have eyes in the back of his head as he was never looking at the ball - or should that say 'he was never wanting the ball'?

Newton is just dire. Featherstones game isn't suited to this team at this time, in this league and Hawkins isn't good enough at the moment.

Woods at least has some energy and can keep possession

As well as a new defence, and a new striker, we need a midfield that can dominate opponents. It's like deja fucking vu

For some reason Loach never plays a short ball to a defender, the ball is always hoofed up the park to nobody as we have dragged every one back to defend set pieces.
It might be ok if you have some pace and break out from defence too attack like the goal Thomas scored but we are no Arsenal, we have no pace.
By the time he hoofs it the opposition have all retreated and inevitably we get the ball straight back, hey maybe he is under orders.
We need a decent centre half, a midfielder who can hold the ball up, a hard tackling midfield to get stuck in, maybe George can provide one or both of those options.
The most worrying fact as has been said was Fylde were a very ordinary team, we are in for some thrashings if there isn't a change in personnel.
With all the success Harrison had with the players he had at TNS why didn't/hasn't he persuaded any of them to come too Pools albeit they are currently Part Timers and none could really survive on Pools wages.

Flyde, Dover, Chester, Maidenhead, Macclesfield and Bromley are all decidedly average at best.

Sadly Pools are not even that good

First half long balls up to Cassidy but with nobody within 15 yards of him to get on the end of the headers he was winning.

As I said Cassidy was winning headers from Loaches clearances but none of the players have any pace to bewithin 15 yards from him.
You can't make a sow from a pigs ear and with current squad and Manager Pools are going nowhere.
We can rant, rave, post etc but nought is going too change.

The whole situation is just painfully depressing, I'm still miserable as fuck today!. I can't get over just how bad this team is, it's got nothing. Biggest cheer was when Harrison got stretchered off, that's how bad it was.

To add insult to injury yesterday the bloody announcer continually mispronounced Guiseley.

To be fair he predicts failure every season. His original post also included a reference to a plague of Tory locusts, the second coming and the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

The only positive I found on Saturday was that I didn't buy tickets for Guiseley on Monday.

This season has been as disappointing as turning up to a CAMRA Beer Featival all excited and full of anticipation of the array of glorious, wonderfully crafted and intriguing real ales to tantalise your taste buds. Only to see every stand serves only John Smiths Smooth and the barmaids all look like Susan Boyle.

Yes he did more than mispronounce Guiseley,he got the score 2-0 at half time (i am sure) before he corrected himself! He dropped a couple of other mispronounced words which seems incredible for an announcer.........who is he?
But this just adds to the crap non footballing set up eg chips, programmes, shop etc etc whats going on? This is where you can make money and i thought we had an accountant running the show??.......

Seasonal debut for me yesterday & it will be some time before I go again. Been commuting from York for 30 years but can't justify the time or expense for that pile of shite.
No backbone, commitment, energy,Plan A - nothing !
The likes of Brian Honour, Ian McGuickin, Rob McKinnon ( all involved in this charity game today?) would have been ashamed to put in a "performance" like that.
To add insult to injury, if I'd been 10 minutes later getting in, I would probably have won the half time lotto an all !

The one big positive is we all now know how poor we are and surely, surely, it can't get worse.

One positive from Saturday is the pitch is looking in great condition, probaly due to all the shite we have on it and the loverly water we water it in with for no reason what so ever during a game which only Pools players seem to lose their footing on WTF?

One thing that has stood out for me in all the games so far is how much fitter, harder working and more confident the other sides seem to have been.

Over to you Mr. Harrison! :angry-tappingfoot:

My Team for Guiseley, lets play people in their proper positions.
Defence: Depending on who is available, Loach, Magnay/Richardson, Harrison/Donnelly, Watson, Adams.
Midfield: Franks, Featherstone, Woods, Deverdics.
Up front: Cassidy and Donaldson or Oates if fit.
