Isn't the manager who was our No 1 choice pre-season now available and without any compensation to be paid?

That looked like a team of professional footballers intentionally throwing a game today. Being shit is one thing, but the lack of effort and urgency was borderline suspicious.

Why did he bring Hawkins on the left wing? Why didn't he start Deverdics? Why is Newton still getting a game?

Just some of the questionable decisions he made today. And he's already racked up a fair few of those in other games.

The team looks unorganised and unmotivated, they don't have a clue what they are doing out there.

I'm not one for chopping and changing managers, but he really isn't helping himself with his decisions. He just appears to be winging it in the hope that it comes good. That might work when in the Welsh pub league, but not here.

Hawkins wasn't on the left wing we were playing 4-3-3. Deverdics had to come on though surely? Hawkins actually did better than some he showed some workrate and won an actual 50:50, that's almost man of the match territory.

This is an all time low, I have seen nothing like how shit that was.

My Dad has been going to Pools for almost 60 years and said it was the worst performance he's ever seen.

That was an all time low. Hate having to say it but there were no positives you could take from that today.

I know it's only 6 games and I know he inherited a club that's being going backwards for 10 years, but he is clearly out of his depth.

And that's from someone who was all for giving the manager more time.

Time to act Pam, he's taking an already shite team backwards. Not sure I've seen a team so clearly not willing to play for the manager.

After 57 years that was probably the most insipid, uninspired, disorganised, clueless and managerless display I have ever seen. I could think of more words to describe that utter shite today but I will be here all night. Utter, utter shite.

Fair enough. I didn't realise it was 4-3-3, which in itself says a lot. Hawkins certainly found himself on the left hand side plenty. Which as you say would have been ideal Deverdics territory.

Newton is an absolute passenger in midfield, I'd much rather see Woods in there, at least he puts his foot in. Donaldson is another who's managed to produce the square root of fuck all since we signed him. I can barely remember him touching the ball.

I dare the manager or any of the players to have the audacity to blame the fans for not supporting the team.

10 years of continual shite and we still shift 2500 season tickets and even manage to create a sense of excitement about the season ahead.

You had the perfect platform Pools and this is what you give us?

We don't deserve it.

Harrison I doubt was even injured, he's like a shellshocked soldier he had to put himself out of his own misery, almost sad to watch. I have seen fuck all like when the centre forward fell over in possession first half then stood back up and still skinned him.

Given he's presumably the defensive coach I would be decidedly whelmed by that prospect.

But on today's performance I'd take any change.

I'm desperate for every Pools manager to do well, and yes I was saying during the week he has to be given a fair crack of the whip. That was on the basis there were signs of improvement in the Chester game.

However that today was as bad as anything I have ever seen in terms of tactics and leadership. As soon as they scored it was game over. We looked completely bereft of ideas and there's 5 or 6 players don't look interested.

Donaldson doesn't even want the ball, and as for Newton ??? People keep saying there is a footballer in there, but if there is, he must be doing a fucking, bloody, good job of hiding the fact.

Like I said, there wasn't a single positive you could take from that today, unless you count Harrison going off.

Great post Chip, straight too the point, Harrison must go.

How many times have I said it you can put all the names in a hat and draw eleven out it wouldn't make much difference. It's just which player you fancy more than others.

Dreadful performance. Just can't see the present set up ( on the playing side ) getting us out of this mess.
I've been racking my memory to remember a worse performance and, as yet, haven't come up with an answer.
I think Harrison has to put his hands up and admit he is out of his depth and do the honourable thing.
I was told that Paul Cox was in the ground.

i was being generous by saying three more games for Harrison last week. It's simply if the players don't look like they give a flying f&ck then the manager isn't doing his job properly. I don't agree that the players should do it, but that's what happens in football unfortunately. We need a league tow level experienced manager who wants to get back there. Not Bates. I'd let him go too.

Possibly the lowest point in our history.

Poor players with a clueless manager who gets the worst out of them.

No one in the ground, not least the players or manager had any idea what tactics were being employed.

I am normally the last to call for a managers head but don't believe we will win again until he is gone.

With poor players not even playing for the manager things need to be changed fast.

Today was the first time in probably a decade I left before the end.

The only person at the club I have any respect for is Pam and I am praying she does what is needed.

Whilst I was not overly impressed with Harrison's signings you have to be realistic at who will come to Pools but I must admit how disappointed I am at their performances to date.

I can't remember a set of new signings being so poor. Donaldson, I don't see what strengths he actually has? Munns far too lightweight, I thought he would be quick or have a trick or two but I don't see what he does.

Newton so far, one of the worst if not the worst centre midfielder I've ever seen play for pools. How woods can't get a game instead of him, and he's no world beater.

Laing atrocious.

The keeper and left back okay at best, though Adams has hardly endeared himself to the fans.

Then Frank's , the best player today which says it all, that's only because he was the only one trying. How I've missed his diagonal runs to the corner flag.

The better players are the remainder from last year, the worst team in pools history. That says something.

No hearts, no brains just a team of cowards and I include Harrison and Bates . If Harrison is shown the door then surely Bates has to go as well.

Shouldn't he be playing then? It's a joke. That warm up they did where he kicked the ball at the back four? As if they're going to get a free header in this league, unless they play against us

He should be playing - and if he can't or won't, he should be used as a topping on Craig's next Pizza!

And, Batesy boy, see you in Hurworth tomorrow?

I watched the warm up and the assistant manager seemed to be the one in charge. Bates just stood there with his finger up his !! Apart from the bit what you mention with the defenders.

Bates definitely should be playing the next match. We have Donnelly on international duty, then Harrison and Laing both out injured, leaving no central defenders other than Bates and the new signing Watson (who I thought looked head and shoulders above our other defenders today) ... who plays in defence on Monday if magnay is still ill?

Can we have the drains up, because there must be a serious leak of lethargy gas into the home changing room...... and haven't hot a clue gas in the managers office.

Harrison's interview sounds like he believes he's very much still in a job.

He's hoping that Scott Harrison will be fit for Monday...a lad so clearly bereft of confidence he shouldn't be anywhere near the team. He's not a great footballer but he should be capable at this level but instead can't do a thing right. His mistakes stand out because they generally cost goals.
Others in the team are just as much to blame, it's pointless naming them as it's bloody most of them. Cassidy and Loach were the only two who I'd be happy to pick on Monday, the rest need to have a long hard look at themselves.

Now THAT was REALLY fucking bobbins. Definitely amongst the worst I've ever seen.

If he's to stay in a job he has to change our approach. Simple as that. We do not have the ability to pass the fucking ball around like Arsenal probing and exploiting errors, gaps etc.

We have to play a more direct game. Use our supposed better fitness levels and close their ball carrier down to force the errors and regain possession, then get forward and take chances. Some of the players at this level are fucking rubbish and with a bit of pressure applied they'll make mistakes.

He has to find a way to win games and it really doesn't matter how. What we do know is current methods are not working so he has to have the balls to say that and change things.

Harrison was weak in the tackle for their goal and so easily beaten, it really was shit. The second goal was just embarrasing. It is so very basic. Even at the shit level I play at we're reasonably capable of picking a man and staying with him.

The players look bereft of confidence which is essential to turn this around and fuck knows where they are going to get it from. I would suggest going back to doing things that everyone is comfortable with that they can do instinctively.

Fuck analysing performances. Start again and fuck the passing game. We can't do it. The moves break down all the time because the forward momentum is continually lost as we pause and look for the easy ball to make sure we retain possession. Retaining possession is good but not at the expense of never scoring or creating chances.

:)

I don't think Cassidy has let us down in any game yet. He works hard and takes no shit off the centre halves. Good player and just what we need up there.

Loach hasn't done anything wrong either.

Almost all the rest can hang their heads.

This season's been like looking forward to going holiday and as the plane taxis down the runway the wings fall off and the captain tells you he think he can sort it out. You ain't gonna fly with either him or his plane. The flights over.

Yes I agree with that Shilts. I think Blair Adams might also be decent in a team that wants the ball make runs and actually try to win a football match.

I was impressed with Loach at the final whistle actually he was the only one who had the bottle to face up and clap the fans.

I thought other than one mistake, Watson looked like a good centre back and looks like he could be a good signing for the defence. We just need two more now to provide back up and replace Scott Harrison.

If Harrison and Laing are still injured, Donnelly is on international duty and Magnay is still ill, who is going to be in defence on Monday?!
