Set to sign according to reports Micheal Ledger from Sunderland and Ryan Bowman from Motherwell.

Ledger is only 19 but had a successful loan spell in the Norwegian top flight last season, Bowman has plenty of experience at this level.

The Mail is also suggesting that we're after another more experienced centre half as well.

If true it's encouraging on two fronts, one that Harrison can see the obvious weakness and two he has the funds to strengthen.

I think you'll need to repeat that in English

Is you meant is this the ex player Ryan Bowman then yes I'm pretty sure he had a spell at Darlo, scored a few for Gateshead as well.

Fair point. Really should refrain from trying to use a phone to post.

Think he was highly rated by darlo fans.

Sounds like he could be good at hitting the target.

I'd normally be wary at signing kids on loan at centre back but I doubt anyone could be as poor as the current two playing there.

I'm already creating my Pam Out banner as it's her fault we've signed these shite players.

You beat me to it

Seriously though , sounds like more of the same to me. Though to give Harrison credit, after I bumped into him down Blackhall beach, and spoke about our lack of height , both are over 6ft.

If he's following your advice Horden I wish you had asked him to sign Messi. However I realize he's too small for your liking :)

Of course Tree, and many other things, but uppermost on my mind at the time, was stopping him from walking out into the sea

 No, but I did give him your mobile number, hope you don't mind, as I said you would be able to give him some good advice on male grooming, fashion and diet etc.

Has he rang yet?

Was he crabbing or picking coal again for the Vic furnaces Ron?,....... you know the furnaces where Goldberg used to burn all his paperwork in.

Adam Jackson and Christian Burgess were both young and inexperienced centre backs when they came to us on loan. Both could easily have been Player of the Year and immediately went on to bigger clubs.

Jack Baldwin was about 18 when he made his debut.

Age/experience is irrelevant, we just need someone who can play there who has basic competency and that wont gift the opposition a goal every game.

So were Scott Harrison and Donaldson. With these type of loans, it could go either way. Jackson and Burgess were two of the better ones we have had on loan, Baldwin was a great signing, even Hartlepool get it right occasionally. Not sure about the Sunderland lad, but Bowman might give us that rawness , spirit and fight we are missing at the moment.

He was looking for the pit Dan and ended up down the beach. Aparrently he had been reading a book, given to him by an old Welsh miner, that had said, just shout down a coal mine and you will find a good footballer. I had to tell him the pit closed in 1981.

Fair point ! I knew he decent when he first came here, didn't realise he got POTY. Which I suppose makes it doubly frustrating that he never kicked on his career and the fact he is pants now with us.

Loans of young players is always a gamble. Jackson and Burgess were huge successes but I can barely remember the names of the dozens of others who returned to their clubs and vanished, you only remember the good ones.
As for Harrison he was here with Charlie Wyke. Harrison swept the board with the end of season awards and looked a far better prospect than Wyke. Just shows how things can change.

I think we should all be absolutely made up with the fact that pools are sorting it out quickly and bringing in a like for like replacement for Podge. This guy could be the answer to our problems. Podge was hardly banging them in week after week and hitting the target on a regular basis. Not bothered one bit that he has gone at all... main thing is we looking at replacements and not relying on Oates or having 1 upfront.

However we do need to get the ball to the front men and create better chances - that will come in the form of playing Munns and Deverdics in the correct positions and having them on the pitch at the same time. Donaldson isn't living upto expectations unfortunately as id thought we had finally got ourselves a good solid attacking midfielder.

would love to know what happened to Mondal and Maloney as they are quality players and I think we would have benefited from at least having one of them on the books.

hopefully this kid from sunderland can be the new Burgess and we have them signed up in time for Saturday as Fylde will tear us apart

Bowman would be an impressive signing, given he's played in 7 of Motherwell's 8 games so far this season. He must have made himself unavailable for the 8th game to push through a move to Pools...

It looks like Amonds dream move to Newport will be sealed at 5pm. I'd love to ask the bloke if they suffer the same fate us come next May, which is very possible, what then!?

Anyway forget about people who don't want to play for us.

Possibly the worst ball control of any player iv seen for us.

Plenty of effort, will run all day and has some pace though.

Dont think he had many chances at goal with us to be fair. Seem to remember a one on one which he missed.

Scored a cracker for Plymouth against us though.

You'd be better off asking Plymouth supporters he barely got any game time here, I'm not sure how any Pools could form sort of opinion of him as a player.

Bowman is decent. He was a bit hit and miss at first but was one of the better performers in a crap team.
Prone to the occasional glaring miss but more than made up for those occasions. He should be well for you.
