In a couple of weeks time it'll be 5 years since we drew 1-1 away at Bournemouth in League 1 in front of 5308 people, this weekend they are at home to Man City in the Premiership and we play AFC Fylde in the National League.. banghead

£50+ million owed in 'loans'.

Surely football needs to be made to get its zct together... then again, pigs might fly.

On the pitch we had been on the slide but all of the bills were getting paid and we didn't have any debt. With a less clueless (at best ) owner it wouldn't have taken a great deal of nous to turn our fortunes even slightly for the better. We have a loyal fanbase desperate for the club to do well, our 'plight' should never have come to this.

Very few buy football clubs to lose money. Did anybody really believe a guy living in London thought, there's a really nice club up in the north east that I could put money into to restore its fortunes? Did the Glazers sitting at home in the USA think wouldn't it be great to risk huge sums to get MUFC back to the top of the Premiership. No, the vast majority are in the business of making money (taking money) from football clubs.
The best solution for Pools would be ownership by the supporters.

BTW I just read that someone thought that last season was the worst in Pool's history. Well I suggest that he check the number of times that Fred Westgarth successfully applied for re-election to the 3rd division north.

I just checked and the answer is none.

Also in Fred's last three years as manager we finished 5th, 4th and 2nd respectively in 3rd division north.

The rot set in under one of his successors, Bill Robinson, and it appears that something shady was going on according to the tinternet, as it says that "several players were taking bribes to lose" when he was sacked.
