Was anyone at the game today who can give a honest assessment?

Didn't do anything majorly wrong and got a few half decent crosses in. Didn't dwell on the ball, playing it simple where in the past he may not have. Looked lively enough and in that short space of time looked more competent than Donaldson. He played one bad ball from memory where he played it back to Adams but Adams wasn't there...fortunately I think it was Harrison who covered it though and cleared

This is the thing with Franks, not a bad player just not a good one. Think the criticism levelled at him is because, he is not the type of player we need at the moment , he flits in and out of games and is very inconsistent. I'm sure when he was here before he only seemed to play well between 20 and 40 minute mark. Always seemed to get subbed around 60th min if my memory serves me well. If we are going to do well , we need a great winger not one who just does the basics well now and then.

The problem is mr horden, you won't find great players at this level or rather, if they are great they won't stay around for long

Other teams seem to manage it. I get what you're saying , its not easy but they are out there, and if they do the business, then you cash in and start looking for another one, isn't that the way football has worked for centuries?.

The lad who scored their second had a good game though and he was a winger lol at least I think it was him....fucking good goal but looked very much like hand ball in the build up.

I did say it wasn't easy, but you said you wont find players at this level , but you do, whether its players coming down or players on the way up. You just need people with the knowledge to find them, also a bit of money may help as well. Obviously our geographical position and ever decreasing reputation makes it harder to attract them. Looking at team sheets of these southern clubs, its like the league of nations, definite advantage for them attracting players , but not using that as an excuse.

I don't necessarily think they are great, I haven't really seen big standout players this season, I just think they have better teams or they are just better than whoever we have in competition against them.

Geography has got something to do with it. We have least amount of ethnic minorities in the North East. Did you see how many Black players Dover had? the names of the Bromley players today? Do you think they would come to Hartlepool for 500 quid a week?

Bromley were organised. Had a few quick footballers including the black winger who looked prettt tasty.

We're some way off being good enough to compete with these teams
