Know what you mean. I forked out for a season ticket but have got better things to do with my time than watch utter garbage week after week.

The owners need to understand that some of us bought season tickets against our better judgement in the belief that Pools were finally turning a corner. We've been let down too many times in recent years to have much patience with another shambles.

Exactly, I been watching Pools for over 40 years now and I've never felt so dissolutioned. Watching utter garbage every week. £185 ono. As others have mentioned it's like Groundhog day, same old frailties for the last 8 years.

I agree.
I also thought that a new dawn was around the corner and was gullible enough to purchase a season ticket ( three in fact)
After witnessing all three games so far ( two live and one on the telly) I am beginning to regret making the decision but I will admit it is entirely my own fault and, after supporting the club since 1952, you would think that I should know better. when it comes to Pools the heart rules the head.
However I will give it ten games.
At the end of those ten games I will have a rethink.
I am hoping that a massive turnaround will be taking place at the end of those ten games.
This next bit is for PJ.
I am not going to make a 200 mile round trip to home games, fighting my way up and down the A1, simply to witness a bunch of no hopers take my club into oblivion.
I simply ain't gonna do it. Not to mention the away games.

It was just a reminder of our "discussions" in the past on my whingeing about a 200 mile round trip to watch shite.
I thought it would make you smile but obviously not.
Never mind, just ignore it.

For the record it's now 7 seasons since we won more home games than we've lost in a season. 2010/11 we won 9 and lost 8 hardly impressive. Now if I hear the media term we need to refind 'Fortress Vic' mentioned this season in any context at all (because we've never had it for so long).... I'll start wretching violently.

People are different with different tolerance levels and personalities, I think throwing in the ticket after 3 games is a little short sighted and defeatist.

I was livid after watching yesterdays game, angry at the ineptitude of everything about the club, we had a clean slate and already it is tarnished with chipgate, ticketgate, programmegate and now all team related stuff.

I also see a bigger picture, having ran large supermarkets for years, taking over a new team doesn`t gel straight away, tweaks here and there, new staff, training into your style etc, people questioning your experience etc always inspired me to try harder and go the extra to proove people wrong.

Keep making the same errors by sticking with seasoned pro`s is in my opinion old style management and I expected a young manager with ambition to perhaps try to mix it up, but at Pools we don`t do it unless up to our necks in sand and then the additional pressure stops the younger player playing without the pressure to make an immediate impact.

I hope he turns it around quickly, learns that some of those players are not capable of working out that a ball rolls slower over long grass and gets a few wins, I will keep my ticket a while longer and make a judgement after a few games more.

I think 3 games is a bit knee jerk. I am giving it ten and then deciding. It may be that after ten new shoots are showing and progress is being made. I hope so.

Yes Mr Butt we will not allow defeatist talk!

Anyone found guilty of this crime will be made to watch the video of the Maidenhead game again. :angry-tappingfoot:

I don't get this really. I will go until it's no longer financially viable for me. If we're playing counties level I'll still go.

If all lower league fans went to games based on the quality of the football they were watching, no one would ever go.

Through thick and thin and all that shit. In fact, when times are shit that's when we're needed the most both for support and the money we put in.

The only time I'd consider not going is if we had a Blackpool type situation....which of course, we sort of had/nearly had...fortunately not for long.

That doesn't mean I won't moan like fuck when things aren't going well. But I will still go.

People saying they'll only go in the good times sounds like your average Man Ure plastic fan, but for the record I am not saying you're the same just that it is the type of thing a plastic fan might say.....the club needs all of us, after all it is our club isn't it? If we all did exactly the same thing, there would be no club at the end of the season, is that what you want?

For the first time in ages we have someone running the club that actually wants to engage with the fans and give them a say in how the club is run. Someone who speaks honestly and openly about what is going on.

Pam was never going to turn the club around completely in 6 weeks, but at least she does listen. I made a constructive complain last week about people standing in a queue 25 minutes to buy tickets, within 48 hours the club had introduced a mechanism where people can print off a ticket at home. That sort of stuff never used to happen in the past.

Folk need to realise the club nearly went pop last season and we are still paying off debt racked up by Coxall and wages to previous management/coaching staff.

We all want things to improve on the pitch, I am as gutted as anyone with performances/results the last 2 Saturdays, but fans need to stay with it, support the club, not walk away.

Chip this reads like some of my posts during the last throes of the IOR regime which I got ridiculed for.

However I agree entirely with what you say. I was there on Saturday and haven't come away from a game so depressed for ages. A total embarrassment. However the fact we still have a club is an achievement after the last 12 months and Pam's efforts to stabilise things and engage with supporters deserves a lot of credit.
The jury is out on Harrison, and we have to see what his motivational skills are like given he has only experienced success in the past. Can he do it now that the pressure is on? Only time will tell but he needs a lot more than 3 games. Constantly getting rid of manager is a recipe for disaster.
Several players have been a huge disappointment so far. They are still new to each other and getting to know about each other. They need to do this quickly and start showing some of this potential we are led to believe they have.
I'm worried and concerned but some of the knee jerk reactions to the poor start are comical and certainly not helpful. Let's give it some time and see where it takes us.

Did Pam not save the club to protect sages investment/loan?

Administration would have cost sage a lot of money wouldn't it?

Not criticising her for it, as she appears to be open and honest but it seems to me that the thing that saved pools was in fact the sage loan.

It amuses me some what when people talk of knee jerk reactions and comical comments etc.

It's a message board and people are angry and sound off. Very few actually mean it.

I would suggest that places like the bunker actually provide a safe haven to vent your anger, as without it the manager chairman players might get a lot more of it during games.

It seems to me people were either stupidly optimistic or negative and some have switched to the other extreme.

The only person who seemed to have concerns prior to the kick off was horden who got roundly critisized for being negative.

As for not changing manager too often well that's bollocks as well. You change a manager when it's clear he is shit. If that's after 3 games then so be it.

This bloke needs a bit of leeway though.

Chip has hinted he didn't bring the players in so maybe his hands are seriously tied.

If Pam is that open and honest maybe she should clarify that and maybe give this manager a bit of protection.

That would show real leadership.

A lot pf people thought it was going to be a stroll in the park, promotion a mere formality, crowned champions by December and a season long goal fest where the minions cowered as we entered town to give them a damned good thrashing. Clubs would post us the three points to save them the embarrassment of record defeats

Delusional.

This is a season of transition and adaption. The quicker it's accepted, the easier it will be. It's very early days yet, calm down.

For now.

I didn't read anyone who was being serious who thought it said that to be honest, we might have hoped for a better start than this mind! But it's very early days, look at the way Tranmere have started. The League probably bares no resemblance now to how it will finish come May.

3,000+ last night was a really good turn out considering how dire Pools were home to Dover and away to Maidenhead.

Think I'm away for the next home game but I'll be back for the one after because despite the calamitous start last night, the entire team looked up for it and had a right go at Chester.

Pools need to aim for a play off place this season and finishing 7th out of 24 isn't Mission Impossible. If we do what Maidenhead did and play to our strengths on our own pitch we should do alright.

But when the manager says 'we need to cut out gifting goals' he knows exactly who the guilty parties are and needs to show that he means it.

Not sure Donnelly at CB is the answer (he's not even 5' 9" tall) so unless Aaron Cunningham is going to start making the bench and put Harrison and Laing under pressure, we urgently need to sign another centre half.

Wiki says he 5'11 which is more likely. I was very close to him at whitley bay and he's certainly taller than 5'8. He was a centre half at fulham and the Ireland u21s, he's played that position once that I can remember at pools away to Grimsby and not surprisingly that was the best ive been him play!. He just gets used all over because he's versatile.

The official site has Loach down as 6ft tall, he's 6'5 so its not very accurate!

Personally I wasn't expecting this season to be a 'stroll in the park' at all, I would be more than happy to see some sign's that we are showing some seed's of progress on the pitch after many season's of decline, but alas' I'm just seeing a continuation of this slow decline.

Albeit there were sign's last night of increased urgency, fight and passion but this just poses the question to me of why that hasn't been present in every game, and says a lot when a draw at home against possibly one of the league's weaker teams is classed as a minor achievement.
What's really bugging me is statement's we've been plagued with in the past like 'the players will learn from this' .....when it's patently obvious that of lot of them don't.

I don't know how tall he is but I do know that 179 cm is, as near as dammit, 70 1/2 ins which is 5ft 10 1/2 inches.
.87 of a foot is 10.44 inches which confirms that.
A certain Mr Moore, who played for Pools wasn't as tall as that. Not many people outjumped our Wattie.

OK, he's 5' 10 1/2 - still short for a centre back.

5 foot 10 was tall for a man back in the 50s, not anymore.

The biggest issue with Harrison is timing, he jumps before or misses it completely in the first half, better in second but come on, I like the lad but he isn`t exactly helping himself is he!

I don't know what the ideal height for a centre back is but I do know I'd prefer Donnelly to Harrison.
Harrison's mistakes come from his inability on the deck not in the air. Daft back passes, total fresh air shots and along the deck passes which invariably go to the opposition, not to mention his positional play.
I suppose we have got to expect mistakes at this level but his are way too frequent. Attackers make mistakes as well so it's not as if he is up against worldbeaters.

I've always liked Scott Harrison for being a fighter (sometimes literally). Centre backs are constantly in the game and it's not as if he cocks everything up - bit like goalies though, ten good things are easily cancelled out by one howler, and unfortunately there's no sign that he's learning how to cut out the mistakes.

Probably the best centre back not capped by England in the modern era but he was/still is taller than that I'd say about 6'1".

He's wider than 5'8" now

Well said Derwent. Height is not important if they can play and Watty certainly could. Discovered playing in local leagues, went on to become a fine professional. (earning less than £20 a week!)

Considering that we are now a non league outfit, are there no Bobby Folland's plying their trade on the Rec who can perform as well as the the overpaid contracted pro's that we are lumbered with?

Of course height is important. Most centre backs are tall. The people quoted were the exception , good players, who maybe could jump or just read the game well. Our team aren't very tall, and there doing quite well aren't they?

true horden. watty moore was my first football hero but do not know how he would have coped against modern non league sides that look more like warrington wolves when they come out. got to fight fire with fire wether people like it or not.

I tend to agree with Brian Clough, (who knew a little about football), that the game should be played on grass (pity about Bromley), not in the clouds.
