Some of these selections in midfield are a mystery. Is Laing from the same mould as Harrison?

I agree with Deverdics, he is one player that can actually pick a pass out and try something creative. Can't say the same about Rodney though. He is a decent back up for our strikers, but I wouldn't pick him over Amond or Cassidy and he can't play on the wings, when he came on I think he looked a bit lost and when he got the ball he rarely did anything with it. The okay in the build up to the penalty would have probably been a foul at any other level.

Kid has been injured and played 45 minutes in pre-season. So congratulations on writing him off so early.

Rodney did better than anyone else in a shit grey shit.

Laing was god awful, marginally worse than most of the rest of the team. I'm not as excited about this season as I was, in fact unless we improve quickly I'm pretty concerned.

I haven't written him off, just that when he came on he didn't do enough for me to agree that he should start the game. He is only young, he can progress but right now, he would be my fourth choice striker behind Amond, Cassidy and Oates.

To be honest I think you could put all the names in a hat and just draw eleven out. There is little difference between most of them just a matter of choice/opinion.

My team for Tuesday would be;

Loach

Magnay Donnelly Harrison* Adams

Donaldson Devrdics Newton Munns

Amond Cassidy

*I would be spending every minute between now and Tuesday trying to get in another centre back to replace Harrison.

Replace Donaldson with Blackford and Amond for Rodney , Cunningham better than Harrison, he is shocking and should be kept away from the first team.

He has come on a bit with some quality coaching and is better than the current crop of anal waste :shifty:

I'm not Featherstone's biggest fan but I can recognise he can't be any worse than what was on display today.
For me not a single positive come from the game, more questions than answers.

I get what you are saying Chip but we didn't go back to front quickly enough during the game today purely because of the pitch it had no roll due to length of grass and how dry it was the second goal being a prime example. Cassidy was winning plenty in the air as well.

They passed it about perfectly fine.

Not in their own half they didn't.

The pitch can't be an excuse. We got it wrong, the players weren't good enough and the manager picked the wrong team. Saying anything other than that when we were outclassed by a part time team for 75 minutes of the game just sounds like shit excuses.

I'm not using it as an excuse we were naive and didn't adapt it's a critiscism of our performance.

Fucking hell, we were shit because the grass was too long?! Must have been a different length for Maidenhead as they passed it better than we did. Lost count at the hopeless hoofs up front from us.

No the grass was just longer in our half where our players passed it. They cut/lengthened it depending on where Maidenhead were playing.

As I said after the Macclesfield game, I'd play Deverdics from the start. He is a creative player and fuck me we need one of those right now. I don't care that he will play the odd wayward pass because he can see things that, for example, Newton will never see.

I can't imagine Harrison's constant tinkering is doing the squad any favours whatsoever.

Tottenham had one of their best seasons in recent memory last season and they played the same way week in, week out and used a very small number of players.

Decide who the preferred starting 11 are and stick to it. Make changes when you have to. Round pegs in round holes.

At the start of the season I had a lot of faith in Harrisons appointment but now I am beginning to wonder.

Why did he put Laing ( a centre half) at right back, Harrison ( a centre half) at left back and Magnay ( a right back ) at centre half.

Magnay was beaten in the air for their first goal and he pointed to where he wanted Laing to pass the ball for their second, all be it a poor pass. need to get this sort of shit sorted , and quickly. My fingers on the panic button waiting to press it!
