Enjoyed the coverage on BT of the weekends matches in this league.
Don't know what to expect and when I heard Harrioson discussing the match on the radio, he sounded like a safety officer I used to work with and he talked jibber jabber.
Ah well, early days, be hopeful and go for 1-0 Amond.

So hard earned 1.1 Oates

5-1 to Macclesfield. OG for our goal. 132 Poolies. Well I predicted a 4-2 win for us v Dover so that's fair I think.

I'll be there tonight providing it stops bloody raining.....mind you, I can't imagine it will be called off, it's always raining on the wrong side of the Pennines so I'm sure they'll be used to it and have appropriate drainage.

I think it will be a tough game, especially if each of our first games are anything to go by.

Quite specific this one...

After a Deverdics free kick in the 84th minute, there's a goal mouth scrap and Laing pokes the ball in. Celebrations ensue as if we had just won the FA Trophy, in front of the 139 fans who made the journey.

I'm not a time traveller or anything, but get your money on that!

Had porridge for breakfast and a nectarine at elevenses.

Considering beans on toast for dinner. Thoughts?

Weather update from Salford Quays.

Its still not raining, but the technical BBC term needed here is, "It looks like its going to piss down any minute".Quick trip advsior update.

Staying at Hotel in Salford quays. Its actually quite decent round here. Mind you, I wouldnt swim in these waters like a lot of folk were doing last night. Fucking filthy. Lots of kids having swimming lessons, It must be a punishment.

Anyway, I am starting to dislike Manchester a bit less. I may even start to like it soon.

Maccs haven't been doing badly in the National League at home past few years so I'd be happy with a point. 1-1.

Pissing down in SW France and my office got flooded which would be OK if it wasn't the spare bedroom. Will be greatly cheered up later on by listening to us clinch a 1-1 draw with a decent defensive performance.

How old is Danny Whittaker ? must be nearly 50 , but no doubt will be bossing the midfield tonight. If we can't beat these I give up.

1-1 Cassidy with the goal. 374 poolies make the arduous journey - would have been 375, but I'm working.

Don't bother with the Heinz reduced salt and sugar baked beans, pissy at best, no flavour.

Its actually getting darker. And looks like its going to absolutely piss down.

But still no rain.

Oh hang on, I see some umbrellas up, and yes, we have rain.

Bloody hell, you lot in the North East must be on decent wages. I buy the supermarkets own brand shit.

And due to no better suggestions I did indeed settle for Tescos reduced sugar and salt beans on Jacksons seeded toast - butter (and that's actual butter not margarine which to be fair, is just absolute dog shit whichever type you buy). I wouldn't normally go for the seeded bread option for beans on toast, I'd prefer it with an egg mayo type arrangement but it's all we had. For beans on toast I prefer really really cheap and nasty square white bread.

Really looking forward to the drive over the M62 in the wind and rain. Can't wait.

If we don't win I'm not going any more.

The drive back will be even better. Just throw in darkness for the complete wanker of a drive home.

Whereabouts are you in East Yorkshire, Shilts? I'm living in digs in Hedon just east of Hull, would've braved the drive if I didn't have to work over tonight

Apologies for the lack of updates:

But it is now pissing down. And looks set in for the forseeable.

I really don't get this obsession with 4-4-2, I'm not even sure we've got the players to play a conventional 4-4-2, maybe a narrow diamond with Munns playing in behind the two strikers? He is starting Cassidy with Amond tonight though.

We don't have natural wide players and I worry about us getting overrun in midfield.

We've just got to compete and get on the ball and play a lot better than we did on Saturday.

Totally agree unfortunately we can't play 4-5-1 or 4-3-3 either

Its all about how good your players are , formations don't win games, though 442 I reckon is best formation for teams with limitations. Not having a proper hard man in midfield is always going to make it difficult for us.
