He had his good moments, like when he came on against Newport County. Also believe he made a superb pass to set up Ironside against Oxford.

Wasn't great but wasn't complete shite by any stretch of the imagination!

Paul Williams or Rob Moverley are two stand outs for me, having said that TWH probably thinks moverley was better than Flindererers

Not the worst player but Nobby Salano was a big let down.
Rememember Stuey Boam being the same.
Both good players in there younger years just shite for Pools is probably why :character-bart: :character-oscar: :character-oldtimer: they played a few games for us.

Andrew Joseph Jordan - the dressing room bollocking he got from Cooperman at Whitby is one of my abiding memories of the 'good days'.

All the other players told to warm down on the pitch...........

Paul Stephenson and the Shitty Scotty sitting outside..........

"Andrew, you'll never fucking play for one of my teams again, ever, fucking ever! Now fuck off"

Yes, unlike his Dad, he was yellow........scared to put his foot...and so fucking useless as a defender.

Funny that not one of them were in the team that got relegated out the league for the first time in the club's history. Goes without saying that must be our worst squad/team but we've had so many terrible individual players.
Tim Sperrivik was pants and I vaguely remember a back left back who was awful but forget his name, think he came from Mansfield.

I'm pretty it transpired later that he was having some real problems mentally at the time and was in the midst of serious depression so possibly a bit harsh!!

We've had far far worse than some of the names mentioned. Bjornnsson was actually a decent footballer he just wasn't cut out for the physical nature of our football. Ali Gibb!? Yeah he wasn't great but that was a promotion season he featured in.

I reckon yloop is in the right sort of area with Chris Homer basically lads who we put in the team because we had nobody else, some who would struggle in the Northern League. Anthony Skedd comes to mind, to be fair for what he lacked in ability he tried to make up for in effort.

Whilst Behan was terrible, he did give us the Joey Gudjohnsen free kicks. Such excellent ball to face accuracy.

People only remember that miss by Bjornsson, other than that we've had much much worse players than that. As mentioned the likes of Homer, Matt hyson, Scott garrett, Stuart Irvine, Scott sloan etc were far worse!

Stuart Irvine is a great shout.

I always remember getting into Boothferry Park really early for one game after an ill advised and sharper than anticipated pint in the Silver Cod and getting in to watch us warm up before a relegation six pointer. Paul Baker and Brian Honour were caretaker managers of a team featuring Peter Beardsley. Anyway Baker was doing a drill with Irvine where he crossed the ball into the box and he attacked the cross and applied a finish into an empty net. I think he scored 1 in about 15. No Keeper.

We were 4-0 down after what seemed about ten minutes but was probably 20. Cracking day.

Martin Pemberton I think?

Danny Hughes was shocking and Parnaby would have to be in there. Scottish centre back who Neale Cooper brought in was shite. Steve Jones (keeper) was also diabolical.

Had a GK in the early to mid 90's, was it Jones? Abysmal.

Darren Holden. In about 20+ years of watching Pools, I can't think of a player more out of his depth than him.

I put that game down as one of the worst pools performances I ever witnessed PJ, Hull were bottom of the league as well, 4-0 at half time and it was pissing down! Yet somehow that team never managed to get us relegated! But yes Irvine was utter shite.
Also Bjornsson played a lot of his games for us at centre half, which was actually his natural position!

There are hundreds to choose from, but cant see how anyone can be worst player for us , if they managed to at least score a goal , or even had one good game. There are hundreds who did neither. Steve Jones will go down in history as a poor keeper, but he was ok in his 20 or so games I seem to remember. He played with a good team in front of him. He went downhill at the same time as the quality of his teammates around the time of the Gibson debacle, so I would say singling him out is a bit harsh.

Indeed ! conceded 10 goals in his first 11 games, which for a youngster coming into the team isn't bad going in my book.

Budtz was a good shot stopper most of the time, but made loads of stupid mistakes.

I think Roy Tunks is the worst keeper I've seen in a Pools top. Made Rob Moverley look like Gordon Banks.

Haway lads, Roy Tunks was like Buffon compared to Ian Bowling. Is he still in hiding in Halifax ?

Late 70s? That explains it. A full 10 years later when he was seized up he ambled around the Vic. It was like watching one of those classic buses that gets fired up once a year for a May Day parade or something.

Here's one for you ! Alan fookin Lamb . In his defence , he was on the bench a lot, but when he started or came on as a sub, it was plain to see why.
