I remember when watching an episode when younger he was put in a car crusher and a block of scrap metal came out of the other end, he then emerged with the aid of some spray gadget in his utility belt.....hilarious stuff....RIP Adam https://youtu.be/RLZQ3OLEJWE

Burt Ward aka Robin is still kicking around. I'm sure I read somewhere Adam West turned down James Bond role due to Batman commitments.

Great childhood memories. Used to fancy Batgirl. lol.

Yeah RIP Adam West some great childhood memories. Loved it when you kicked the ass out of Joker, Penguin and his baddies etc. I remember a full scale Batmobile car replica out of cardboard and other things being made at Acre Rigg Sec Modern School at Peterlee in 1966. The best batman and my favourite when he was hanging off that helicopter in the film and used shark repellant on a plastic shark hanging on to his leg and the US defence dept selling a nuclear submarine to a Mr Pen Guin. Great stuff.

Sad news. I lived in a grove when I was a kid, 11 houses, about 30 kids. The ONLY time the grove was empty, i.e. Without 30 kids braying a ball about or riding bikes, was from 5pm till 5.30, when Batman was on.

They had some bonkers plots in that series, though I'm sure they never meant them to be taken seriously.
I remember one where the villains kidnapped the British singing duo Chad Stewart & Jeremy Clyde, who for some reason were hugely popular in the USA at the time.
B & R deduced that it was a plot to hold the US to ransom, because without the tax Chad & Jeremy paid the country would go bankrupt.
